I have not been out to my shop in weeks. Step outside and you have water dripping off you and running down your back in less than a minute and you don't even have to be doing anything.

I went over to the San Francisco Zoo with my wife and son yesterday. Only about 5 miles away but right near the ocean. When I got there, I was kicking myself for forgetting and not bringing a sweatshirt or jacket. It was freezing and foggy. I immediately went into the gift store and almost bought a $30 sweatshirt (as was a lot of other people), but then decided to just tough it out. After about 1/2 hour, I kind of got use to it, but was happy to be back over in Berkeley later where it was about 75 or so and sunny.

Mikey I'm about an hour or so due west of you. I agree. Nice out at 6AMbut I gotta go to work. By about 9 @ night feels decent in the shop but then the bugs show up. I'd kill for an air conditioned shop.

5. my gauge out here at Addison airport is 105.... I'm ready for this heat to be over.

Yeah when the hurricane blows through its supposed to get down to about 97. What a relief that will be!

9. Clear skies, 84* in the shade, soft breeze, no bugs, nice and quiet. It's getting so I don't know any better.

I feel sorry for you guys - freeze your butt off in winter and then too damn hot to hot rod in summer. At least we don't get too much humidity here in So Cal - like monsoonal 35% at the moment and people are bleating like sheep about how humid it is. Little do they know.

I had burst pipes in November and two months earlier it was 113F at my home. But without the humidity, you can take it up to about 105F - even in my steel barn, if I open the doors and get a breeze. Hang on in there - six weeks and you'll be back on track.

11. 107 hot? it only cools down to around 100 at night here.

i agree with scrap iron , 107 is nice night time weather here. ive seen it 114 at 1 in the morning. and as high as 133 on the temps guages on the bank signs and those are measured in the shade. and lately the humidity has been up around 35-50% its been pretty shitty. by the way havasu has the recorded heat record for az at 128 (i know its been hotter) they only place hotter than us on record is death valley ca. but yea 107 hits usually by 5 in the mornin.

sometimes i miss being in wyoming but when it hit -35 i kinda freaked.

the other thing that sucks is at work i get to work on all the cars that have overheating problems. mmmmm fun.

I came up with a great way to thin out the bug population .

I painted a 5 gallon paint bucket flat black with a red handle

put a few inches of water in it and squirt a little dish soap in it
so it weighs them down
and then clamp a cheap clamp on light bulb so it hangs
down inside the bucket.

they slam in to that bucket all night long and drown
and the chickens love the buffet in the morning

Beautiful day up here around 80. But wait a couple months and it will start to suck here too once the leaves start falling and getting cold nights. Damn I hate living here

I think I got some of you beat, 110 in my shop in houston. Try that with 75-80 percent humidity. We start at 6am and end at 4pm, just monday-thursday. Hope to be in an a/c shop this time next year.

no shit, perfect in the Pacific NW. Tonight we'll be around 60 with light wind. tomorrow will be 90 with 10-15 mph wind. just real nice. clear blue skies, beautiful in the shade! Later on heading in to the weekend well be cloudy and around 75-80. whats not to love? Winters are around 40 with the occasional freeze or snow that lasts only a few days. Yes... we do get rain, but I love the rain. As long as you have a garage and arent working out in the driveway, who cares?
Ive never understood people who bitch and moan about how they hate where they live cause the weather patterns kick their ass. If you hate the ridiculous heat or cant deal with the extreme cold... move!
Theres 49 more states to pick from. Im sure theres some place that youll find more relaxing and youll enjoy better. dont live your whole life miserable in shitty weather, man, lifes too short.

22. I haven't been in the shop in over a week and a half - it's just too damn hot after 9 am to do anything in there! Even on the days I manage to get up early enough, shit happens and I don't get out there. Got two '48 Chevys to sort through and see which one is going to be the builder and which is the parts car, but that may wait until early in September when it cools off some.

I really hate Summertime.

I think I'm going to start reproducing the old swamp coolers that hang off the side of your passenger windows. I bet I could sell them. Hey, did i say that out loud? Heat index here is 110 to 112.

Well normally I am growling about the winters here so I get to take the other end..
This morning was 65 degrees and right now its about 83. Wall to wall sunshine.

28. Yesterday it topped out at 101 temp with about 150% humidity & heat index of 115. S'posed to get better over the next few days with some relief in the weekend forecast although there may be some "R" too. Been so humid you can't even breath. Crappy summers & crappy winters, yet we know it's coming every year.

29. Gee its only creeping over 90 here today but luckily we have 98% humidity to go along with it so the heat index is down to 110

I was trying to duct tape some panels to glass them yesterday and the tape gets too soft to hold.
