i've been lurking around the hamb for a little over a year, and thought i should finally introduce myself formally. i'm a native st. louis baby boomer and have been a car nut since about the age of ten. first ride was a 53 ford--rich boys drove chevys and the rest of us had flatheads. seeing 'thunder road' really got me stoked on shoebox fords. bought my first one in 1975 and have had three more after that! currently have a 50 tudor. gotta say i've learned quite a lot from hamb posts and love the kinship of fellow car nuts.

Welcome from an ex-Illinois rich kid. I drove a 1949 Dodge. That made me rich right!
Glad you got around to introducing yourself.
