Technical Dana 44 rear end in a shoebox

  1. Mine has 44 cast on the right side of the diff cover

  2. And on the housing behind the pinion

    Lots of manufacturers used em. And built slightly different besides length.
    Axle tube diameters, tapered axle, flanged axle, full floater, probably some others.
    My Willys 44 has the casting in a different spot.
    I don’t know if the 41 was cast like that but the cover is different
