Always been sad I didn't photograph the whole build on my 55' stude. Started off with best intentions. Then those few shots were lost, or so I thought. Came home today from being out of town and these were on the kitchen table. Wife found them somewhere. Don't how many times I looked at that car early on and said to myself "That is one Fugly car." First three shots are where I bought the car in Fredericksburg, TX. That's John McCool in the cowboy hat. Kind of a cross between LBJ and Mr. Hainey from Green Acres. Everything he had was for sale, for the right price. (Except for his lemon and lime 55' commander coupe) We love him and his wife Sharon, their good people, anytime I needed something for that car all I had to do was call.
those sedans look like the unsectioned version of the sleek Starlite Coupe. These are more related to the previous body than the thin European styled design.
Next few are what few of the build I have. Lost all the photos of the header build. 8 3/4 and springs out of a 69' road runner, and how about that stude steering, (leg bone's connected to the kneebone)
All I have of the motor. These pics will be 20 yrs. old in a couple months. Still going 11.70's on that same long block! Six months after these shots were taken the car was totaled and in my garage where it sat for the next 9 1/2 years.
The rest of these are shots that have been up before. Just in the order of the changes. Replaced the frame, all the front end sheet metal. Altered the wheelbase during the rebuild, swapped in an auto for the 4 speed.
Reminds me of an old g friend. She wasn't pretty, but she sure could perform. Nice work, looks like a lot of fun.
