I am in Darwin, also known as Australia's Top End for a holiday.Last here 3 years ago.I wasn't expecting any car stuff really, just visiting an old friend and chilling out for 10 days. Well HAMB guys can always sniff out some car action.Having coffee and there was an early Triumph motor bike parked in front.I am not into bikes but it looked cool.Met the owner and he explained it was built along the style of the "Cafe Racer " bikes. The Ace Cafe in London is famous for these bikes.Anyway he advised me that there is a cruise night on Friday night at the Wharf and we will be heading off to that tomorrow night. (Pics of that later).Should be some nice American iron there. Today we were invited to a private museum of mostly Ford stuff. Now these are all restored cars so no actual hot rods or customs in this lot. This collection is owned by a very successful business man and he likes to keep it somewhat private. He obviously likes the soft tops and the 34 roadster is unusual as it is a longer cabin with a rear seat and shorter trunk. Also into trucks which might be a clue as to where he made his money.
It was kind of dark inside with only some fluoros on although there were much brighter lights that could have been on.I was just happy to get in and didn't want to push my luck.
A few more, the Cafe Racer Bike and some "Tourist" photos. We went to see the crocodiles being fed and jumping for their dinner. Also a nice shot of another young tourist!!!
