What is that dingus above the speedo?

 

It's called a traffic light viewer. So you can see the street light without ducking your head under the visor

Ah OK. thanks. I was thinking one of those Christmas snow scene shake things but that sounds more logical.

 

Yep--traffic light viewer-wife's 55 has had one since new.

 

The light refracts through the industrial acrylic lens prism.....pretty god dam cool
