Has anyone done a tutorial on removing & replacing the dash on a 56 Ford?
It appears a bit overwhelming to me.
    Thanks

I changed the dash in a 55 to a 56 a number of years ago. I can't remember it being very difficult. Remove the strip across the top of the dash and you will see screws, two bolts under each end near the kick panels. Wires, speedometer cable, heater cables will have to disconnected. Did you check the FAQ thread here? It might be posted in there in more detail.

Are you talking the complete dash ***embly or just the padding/cover?

If you have the Ford Parts Manual CD which danman offers, the exploded views will probably show you all the attachment points. The best money you can spend on your project starts with that CD because you will see where everything goes in your car.

It's one of those "just do it" things....clearly tag and bag everything, 'cause nobody remembers where every nut and bolt or wire went.digital cameras a great for stuff like this. You'll be allright! If it was easy it wouldn't be as much fun.

I am going to tackle this in my 56 pretty soon too. Mine looks like it has been repainted very poorly at one point so I am going to remove it, strip it and either paint or powder coat it.

It is not uncommon after removing the dash that you may find rust if there was a leaking heater core so if you have it out that can be fixed too.
