The oldest one I have is from the NSRA in Memphis Tn. That was the start of it all.

I would have kept those also, but the ones given out a these local events, I refuse.
I did keep one from the National Buick show week back some ten or twelve years ago when showing my OT Riviera. I just see no value in the weekend local show plaques.

I know what you mean Larry. N.S.R.A. gave out nice brass plaques for the Nationals up till 2009 and then started giving out cheap aluminum silkscreened crap. It's all about profit to them.

Yes it was, I drove my 34 Chevy down from Indiana with no air, but we had the best time.

Yep, quite an accumulation of 50's/60's vintage, that's for sure.

I had about a doz. at one point in the early 1960's,a number of them were engraved, others just printed an some brass, others alum. Not fanzy, not every show gave out.
There was back then a kind of standard size of about 1in. high by 3in. or so long.
I kept most of the trophys from late 50s an early 60s,but lost track of the plaques. My full custom "J" before it was stolen, had 5 glued to inside of Desoto glove box door< I had a 52 Desoto 3 tunnel dash in the "J".
Now days, last 30 years, carshow plaques kind of took on a bigger size an printed art work on alum, sometimes even just plastic. I stopped sticking them anywere long a go,,they are put in a bag now when I get any of them.

These started in 1975... I’m guessing 45 years now might be the past. 7D7674A4-3259-4616-BE56-77D721074452.jpeg 18BC9E01-C3CD-4FD2-AC5D-2D6ECBF64553.jpeg

  18. My earliest plaque is from 1979. I took all my rod run plaques and affixed them to magnetic tape.....stuck 'em up on the inside of the top of my 34 coupe. They really help with engine noise reverberation!

That’s neat, and what I was expecting this thread to be about.
I have never seen the rod run type plaques. Only seen the windscreen stickers.

Dean if you look close at the 40 dash in the spot for the clock there’s the El Mirage fastest pass our 40 Chevrolet ever made. 151.6.. not too bad for a GMC 6.

  21. John, a past member Rusty Streamline (Marshall) started a shop/show/BBQ/party at his place in Franklin, Georgia and went on for several years, he called it the Johnny Paycheck.

It mainly drew Hambers from around South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee & Florida. HRP

My wife gave me this one from a long-gone local track:
    IMG_2758.jpg
She found it at an estate sale, asked the price, and they gave it to her. Thinking I'll put it in my car, even if it feels a little bit like "stolen glory," since I never ran that track.

Somewhere I have a box of plaques from autocrossing in the '80s, but those were just parking lot races and nothing to boast about or display.

  29. 1980 Atlanta Street Rods show coin, Interestingly enough they used the image of Henry Dana's 3 window coupe that was the 1979 best of show winner.
