Lost track of things. Changing the Dash in my A V-8 project. I thought this was a 36 Dash for years. Now that I need parts for it turns out to be 37 or 38. I don't think it's a 39. The only 39 I've done kept all it's stock dash in tact. I need a radio block off plate and all the glove box door parts. I have the ash tray. Look close at the gauges. According to Mack's, the temp gauge is a 37-8 or 9 due to having 3 screws to mount instead of 2. The matching pair Gauge and Spedo were in the dash. The other Gauge set is extra for now being I don't have a matching Spedo to go with it. However it does fit in the dash also. Who has a glove box door they don't need? Also a Cherry matching Spedo to the odd gauge cluster would even be nice. The Wizzard
It's a 1937 Ford. The swoopy corners have been trimmed. The nicer gauge (temp, fuel, oil) is 1938. Matching speedo and other gauge is 1937.
Your right about the corners. I already started installing it in my A roadster body. What makes you say 37 and not 38? Just asking, not doubting. The Wizzard
I have a complete one that is going in my coupe. And I have a 1938 clock that matches your nice gauge in color and circular design. The 37 -39 were similar but design were different. I believe you could put them in any of the dashes though.
Yes, the printing is different on all 3 years. Didn't the clock go in the Glove box door those years?
If you want to have a radio instead of the radio delete look for just the control and dial minus the radio box and you can usually find one pretty cheap. Glass and knobs are readily available from parts suppliers.
Yes the clock was in the glovebox door. I've been searching for one for years but have only seen one for sale. I'm sure they are out there but haven't found one yet now that I'd like one.
I think a Radio in a Topless Roadster would be pointless. Especially being I'm near deaf under good conditions. A block off plate will do just fine.
Well, if I found a 37 clock cheap I would prob buy it but looking more specifically for a 37 glove box door with a clock hole.
correct if i'm wrong, but were the deluxes the ones with the clock in the glove box door?..thought i saw them both ways...mine has the glove box clock.
Got ya now. I forgot they were kind of early remote with cables to the main radio box. I guess that would look fine as well. The Wizzard
Defiitely a '37, because '38-'39 truck uses same glove box door as '37 Standard car. Only the '37 Deluxe had the clock in the glove box door. '38 and '39 glove box door is more rectangular instead of having the rounded top corners like '37.
