IMG_0408.JPG IMG_0620.JPG IMG_0621.JPG guys, you can tell I'm bored I've been looking at suitable dash knobs for the Vedette and really like the early mustang ones. They suit the clock and trip meter small knobs already in the dash. Don't much like the price for plastic chrome knobs but.

Was up the hardware the other day and spotted these.
What do you think, be brutal it's ok

Bearing in mind I now have wipers, lights, fog lights on normal switches in line with ignition on both sides of steering column.

I wanted a red translucent knob for hazard lights that matched my existing knobs. I found resin casting and made a bunch. I started experimenting and came up with some cool knobs. For price it wasn’t cheap. I had to try a few times before I got it right so some time was spent. If I had to do it again I probably would.

I would not use hardware store knobs but that is just me. I wouldn’t think any less of someone if they did. There was a thread kicking around somewhere on here that they used cabinet hardware on customs a lot during the customs age.

Nice. Been trying to cast a replacement vedette badge for my rear bumper. Making the mold is the hardest part.
The thing I like about the hardware knobs is that they are steel, easy to drill and tap for a grub screw.

Maybe CNC or 3D print for the badge? By me there is a “Makers Space” where you can buy a day pass and have access to a bunch of tools a hobbyist couldn’t normally afford to buy. I love that place like a Santa’s work shop.

I hear you on the ease of hardware store knobs. Saves a bunch of time and makes life easier.
