To remove the dash, remove the two large bolts, down low on each side and the 7 or 8 screws on top of the dash, right under the windshield. You'll also have to disconnect the parking brake handle and drop the steering column but that's about it. You'll also have to disconnect all the switches.
For the heater knobs, there's a small setscrew on the underside of each one.
To remove the headlight knob and shaft, you have to depress the small ****on with the spring on it which is underneath the headlight switch and pull the knob/shaft out at the same time.......

Now that it is out, do yourself a favor and paint the backside white. Makes it a lot easier to chase wires once it is back in

Get a laminated print from cl***ic wiring for your year.about $20 and has stock coloring. I would bring a #8 from the regulator instead of a #10. I think it goes to the light switch and jumps to the key. If you ever add AC from Vintage Air or Old Air Products you will have peace of mind.

But if he has used a universal harness the stock diagram will not do you much good, most universal harnesses are GM (Chevy) coded so you have to do some adapting with a Ford. The OEM lacked the number of fused circuits you will gain with the new harness kits. You will find a lot of wiring Tech info and links on pages 5 & 6 of the "Sticky FAQ"
