hey i have a suggestion ,what do you all think i look at the cl***ified section at least once aday and was thinking today while looking at acouple of older threads that have been bumped @every 3rd day or so for months and half the stuff listed has been sold what if when the thread is started somehow the date of the original posting is automatically displayed with the ***le,location and price i dont have a problem with people bumping threads i completely understand it its just a real pisser to find a part you've been looking for and getting ready to send apm about it and then you notice the thread is 6 months or more old and at the end of a couple pages of bumps it says the part you want is sold or they list a bunch of parts and instead of removing each part as its sold they just edit sold after the part yeah this is alittle bit of a rant but i think it would make the cl***ified section a better experience let the flaming begin
Not flaming - I think it's a good idea, and think the original posting date should be displayed on all threads. That way I know that I'm opening a 4 year old thread that starts with "Does anybody have a picture of <insert object here>?" and am at least aware that not all the pictures will display properly, or it posts "here's where you can buy" only to find out the company has gone out of business. My $0.02.
The date of the original ad is right above the posters name in the upper left hand corner of the post. Clearly visible, so not sure what you are not seeing. Cob Cl***ifieds Moderator
For me, I want to see the date of the original post without having to open it. When I'm looking at the list of threads in a forum, I can see the date of the last update and who last posted, but not when the thread was originally posted.
what code monkey is talking about is what i was meaning he just said it in fewer words and better than i did
I can't imagine it would be that difficult to implement - the Social Group Discussion lists already work this way...
