As a dabbler, I've never attempted to imitate his style ( as far as I remember). But I enjoyed growing up with Henry Hi- rise. And I've ripped these pages too..
For all you Bell fans out there. Dave is not doing well at all. He is in Ho****e at the Pillars in Oakdale. Dave has brain cancer and from the looks of things he is not long for this place. His wife came yesterday when I was there. Dave cannot speak, or barely speak. Prayers and good wishes for Dave and Lynn.
Very sad news ... my thoughts & prayers are with Dave, his friends, & family. Folks should also checkout the Dave Bell Art thread.
Went through the thread didn't see this so I'm posting for any of you that want to send a card...........! **** Page posted this on FB....... Dave Bell 1834 N. Asbury st. Falcon Hights Minn. 55113
A superb example of a truly inspiring, creative individual! I think we all share a common respect and admiration for the way he has done things. I just gotta believe he inspired a huge amount of people with his actions and art..God bless
A unique talent and wonderful human being. Yes, certainly a huge inspiration to all CAR-toonists. May God bless and keep you.
It is with great sadness that I share that our friend Dave p***ed away last night at 11:30. His funeral will be some day this week at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Roseville, MN. If you are a local friend of Dave's, drive your bike , street rod or custom to both the memorial and the funeral to give Dave his last personal car show. More info later. Respectfully Gary Magner
...very sad. Big loss in the Auto Art world, he has inspired many (including me) and always entertaining to see his works. RIP.
So sad to hear this....just wrote him a card. Condolences to his family and his friends....and to the Hot Rod world in general.
This is sad news indeed. Dave once did a cartoon in Truckin Magazine that had my friend Steve Johnson (Steve's Paintin' Place) and Steve's dog,Freddy in it that was waay cool! Godspeed Dave, you left us much too soon.
Free from pain at last, goodbye Dave. There's a place in England where you'll never be forgotten. God bless you.
