My computer skills are limited but I really really want to pay tribute to my good friend Dave Lukkari. I thought it would be neat to put up a website with a few of my stories and some pics. I know he has many many friends out there so if you have a tale or some pics that you would like me to include, please send them through. I cant even think of my favourite story about Dave as there are so many, but I shall try to write them down over the next few months and build a fitting memorial site. I know that he has helped many people like me so I am sure there will be a lot of stories. Probably none so bizarre as our friendship struck when I sold him an ice cream from my truck and started talking - didnt do much business that day, but what a good result! You can reach me via this site thanks Steve
Hey Steve,... This should give you a leg up,... I started this thread when Dave passed away,... Dave Lukkari,.... RIP my friend.
I missed that whole thread and didn't hear about Dave's passing till I was at the Nats in Louisville discussing the "Made 'Em All" status with a close friend who has made them all. We met Dave in '75 at Paul Kozma's house in Memphis at the end of the Nats. Great guy who, like it was said in that thread, resumed talking with you the next time he saw you like you had just been talking to him yesterday. As Jerry mentioned, Dave had been to every Nats from Peoria till last year. And for 36 years he'd stop and say Hi at the Nats. Great guy and big loss for the sport. R.I.P Dave Dennis
