Dave Mann to the courtesy phone...

  1. I was at a swapmeet this past weekend and saw a pair of 16" rims that for some reason looked familiar to me. I came home and looked them up on your website and sure enough they are a pair of those "Bear Paw" rims. We have another swap coming this weekend and many of the guys also hit that one with stuff left over from the previous meet. He wasn't selling them because of the oddball 16".

    How much are these things worth? Would you be interested in them if I run across them again? Is there another company that copied them? I could not find any markings on them....maybe magnesium? I'm not interested in them but thought you might be.

    They don't change hands often enough for there to be a value for them that I'm aware of. They were never really very popular, or American would have kept making them. Some people really like them though.

    Thanks, but I really don't need any more wide back wheels, but am always looking for narrow magnesium front wheels.

    Yes, they certainly are magnesium.
