Before you give in, put the chrome and aluminum parts mixed in with the gold parts...then take a pic of the pile.

How's the engine work going? Must be busy with last minute race car guys at your shop?

Dave, I think the gold would be killer. Frank's right...with the chrome and all the other non gold parts to break it up it'd look great. Did you see that gold SBC in the thread I started about my motor w/ the Vette valve covers ??? COOL

Maybe bring all the pieces near the painted car, to see how that looks. I think that dark gold would go with your burgandy?

Probably it would not go as good, on a more reddish-red car.

Brett i did see the sbc it looks good....

Frank the car is 2 miles away, I did visualize it and looked at alot of pics of others and the gold does seem like th ebest color for the black frame and color of car, someone said hondurhas red?? The motor is all machined and ready for assembly.

I got a bunch of goodies today from Tony @ ROSS the olds king. I have to thank him a Ton, He has been a big help with parts etc he is very professional and helpful and knows his buisness. I didnt want a plain old rebuild.. so we spiced some things up.

    I appreciate the opinions.

I am going to go with gold and see what happens the Valve covers are chrome I may go with a aluminium valley pan, Also i am thinking about addding chrome head bolt acorn nuts like the flatheads have. The intake is aluminium... chrome water pump pulley chrome oil filler and breather. The chrome headers should break it up a bit to i hope. If i dont like it I`ll have to repaint it or live with it. I am only being so picky cause things usually just feel right... It doesnt feel right but it may when i get further along.

Is that the gold in the spray can engine paint?

put the clear on it, it dulls it a little and makes it looks better.

It's perfect. That gold picture next to your avatar color looks great, because it's a dark gold.

Hardly any of the front cover will show up when it is in the car. Take a look at an old side view pic of your car, to see how much of the old red actually showed up.

I would not buy an aluminum valley cover, because it won't show with that intake manifold.

I'd spend the money on getting the water pump pulley, and oil filler pipe chromed next winter. Then maybe a black fan.

Frank I looked at side views earlier and thats my concern to me i could see alot of the red or chrysler type orange..

Thanks Frank I think your right i spent 2hrs lastnight just going over color combos in my head and mocking things up...

My original w/p pulley is chrome but the alt pulley behind it is black now cant see it anyway. My oil fill is already chrome aswell was done that way when car was built I dont think that stuff was much money back then and they did do waht they could to make it look like a Hot rod. My fan Is black. Do you want me to have my son bead that fan for ya?? or leave it rusty?

May try to adapt these with a base with airfilters or may go with the frog mouths with a base and filters some how I like the evil look..

Just seeing this thread. Man that is an awesome Deuce. Congrats!

I am 100% sold on the gold. Put a bunch of chrome and polished aluminum on it, there is nothing better. Glad to see that perfect hot rod is finally getting the life it deserves. Enjoy it.

My car will get paint before getting it insured/registered...so, maybe July 1st if I am lucky. Just started serious mud work yesterday.

Need to get some parts ready for this weekends swap in Stafford because my car fund is empty. I guess all I need to find there, is one rear wheel, and a gas tank that will fit in the trunk.

oh, and my computer connection is acting up, so I might be gone from here for a while.
