I thought about that myself. He's one of the best car writers I think,Car Craft went to shit when he left.Don't know what happened at HotRod but I miss him.

  4. I agree. I had the pleasure of hanging out with him a little at Bonneville this year, very down to earth good guy.

    I should have clarified.
I went to his site, I had it bookmarked and now its a dead link
I was wondering if he moved on to other things or if the name changed just curious if he is back in print somewhere I really like his work

He had posted on there a couple days ago that all the funding had dried up .. The numbers he posted that it took to undertake that site were to me

He will be at www.freiburgersjunkyard.com I believe was the site

I can say from a pretty reliable source that the new site is ready to go online anytime now. (I've been 'on the other side' and it looks mighty good guys... :D )

I subscribed to HR when he was there because they were actually covering a good amount of traditional stuff. Since he's left, it's back to to same old crap.

  9. Interesting.

I talked to him at the NMCA/LSX race in Memphis, him and Chad had driven that truck cross-country after their mad thrash to get it running. He's a really nice guy in person, and much more personal than those days when he ran all those mags and was on the Power Tour.

Wow, that was abrupt. I was on there less than an hour ago.
Musta been a big plug they pulled.

From his posts, the guys who funded it took huge hits in the economic melt down, and said they were shuttering the site because it wasn't making money yet, and though the projections were good for next year, the bridge between here and there was too much.

But like the old guy who's "going to fix it up some day," the people who owned the rights thought the site and the name of the site were worth stupid money, and wouldn't sell it to him, so he's scrambling to put a new site together.

Looks like maybe they just had a little hiccup--the site is back up and postable.

Thanks for the mention, guys. True, CarJunkieTV.com is close to done, though the board (investors) are still trying to save the site with a new buyer.

Meanwhile, I am working on my own blog/gallery/forum site while also seeking freelance work (both editorial and video production) and trying to unload at least half the fleet of what was 42 cars but that's now down to 37.

Anyone want to trade something good for my super clean '32 Tudor body/frame? I'll now never have the money to build it right, but I also can't bear to just cash it out like I am with the other cars.

I've got a cherry '73 Duster I'll trade ya. Never hit, no rust...great interior and original Lemon Twist yellow.
Slant 6 with a blown head gasket. But I think it'd make it to Cali as-is!

I guess I'll have to subscribe again. The only thing post-HR any good was D.E.D. in my opinion...

This makes my day. Freiburger gets it. Hot rod readers want it all - the best of everything - From Bonneville and drag racing to show cars to ricers and everthing in between. That is why I read HRM! Thanks be to the Gods of Speed for bringing Dave back.
