What time and mph did ya run in what car. Put a pic or description so we all know who's who.

I ran 12.85 @ 104.86. I finally got my 12!:D I'd like to thank my sponsors, Crushproof Racing and Blush Skincare by Angie (my wife). Without them, it truely would not have happened.

I think there is still a little left in the little 327. With a little tuning of the motor, suspension, and driver, I think we could pick up 2-3 tenths. We just got the heads on last weekend, and I don't think the carbs 100% dialed in to the new setup. And I really was having problems with my shifter hindering my already mediocre shifts. Turns out it was just a clutch adjustment. Then we had a loose rocker later in the day. We learned and we'll get faster!

Congrats on the 12-wish I'd been there to see it :( It was cool hanging with everyone last night at the Continental.

It's because it's a custom. Low and slow.

I couldnt sleep because I was thinking about 55 Chevy's. I'm ready to build a fast car to rule the compe***ion cl***!

I think you guys did a fine job of cl***ifing the cars into their proper cl***es.
Heads up is so much cooler than bracket racing. Get there 1st, you win. Nice & simple, I like that.
Best of the day for me was 11.52 @ 117.46.
Unfortunatly, I broke the the car. I'm pretty sure that I backed off my Ign.retard too far. Check out cyl.# 3:D Can you say detonation?

He had a bad water pump the night before. Changed it out in the morning and was late to the track. He made to wild fishtailing p***es on his skinny tires and then the other pump started leaking so he got waved off. He was pretty bummed.

His coupe sounded that best that I have heard it. I can't wait for him to get it sorted out and make some full p***es.

Don't see why not;) Thank you for your help today Dave. It's good to have your buddies around to dig for the destruction. Cyl. walls & combustion chamber look tip top.
No sign of detonation on the other 3 exposed holes though:confused:
Gonna go tear the rest apart to inspect the rest. I'll let ya know what I find.

Made 1 p***, parked the roadster. Bad front end shake at about 80 mph, horribly worse when I braked. Thought I had that fixed. Still ran a 13.47 in the 1/4 mile, speed was 82.67 mph @ the 1/8 mile, stated slowing down then trying to get out of the shake, 1/4 mile was 78.22. New rear tires hooked up good, if frontend had behaved would have been in the 12s as with old rear tires ran around 107 @ 12.9 spinning & fishtailing off the line. My goal is 12.5 and at least 112.
    Next year!:D

Oh yeah, thanks Kontinentals, good job, great event, as usual. I like heads up!

Dart Iron Eagle 180cc's. The machinist found metal shavings in the water jackets and 7 valves on one head that didn't seat right!!! Not cool, but he got them sealed up nice. We ran out of time for having any kind of port work done, so that may happen at a later date. We'll see. I don't really want to tear it down again for a while.

  20. I didn't get to see much of the racing...but I did see that 12 sec. p*** Buzz. Congrats! Dave, too bad on that piston....I kinda figured you had a bad blow by after loosing that second cap.

And oh my Gawd, did Keiths A-coupe punish the track or what??? I had no idea that car would run 10's. It seemed to hook hard and run straight.

21 100mph patches were awarded on Saturday not including the ones awarded to the exhibition cars(7 of those ran) that ran. More than 3 times as many as any other year. Goes to show you everyone is getting much faster. I will post the winners of the cl***es and the patches when I have a little more time this week. Thanks everyone for coming out. The track owner was beside herself w/ the size of the turnout. She wants us out there at least for a two day event which we will start thinking about or at least do it twice year. Jerry Norman's dragster was the highlight for me along w/ The Scorpion II. Oh yeah and big thanks to Reggie and Flat-Top Bob for rescueing the Black Dahlia from the side of the road while i was out working at the track. She blew her T-5 on the way to track that morning and I had to leave her on the side of the road and hitch a ride. Reggie and Bob are golden.

Thanks for organizing the event Steve. I hated to miss this year, but it will be worth it next year. I think a 2 day event will rule.

My roadster was great but was hard to figure out, after talking with Uncle Daniel and figurng out how he used to run his Nailheads I just about got it figured out. I ran about 7 p***es and could not get out of the 14's at 90-92. After talking with him I dipped into the high 13's and was bumping the 100mph range. I made it to the final round (Showdown with Boom Boom' sweet tea) My best time of the day was my last p*** 13.69 at 99.59mph. So close to 100mph i could not sleep. And that was with skinny bias plyed tires that spun half the track. One more p*** And I would have been 100 but they shut down the track, had a blast and will always attend, Buzzard said it best, "This is too much fun to only do a couple times a year.

My little Stude powered truck ran faster than it ever has, even with a slipping clutch and oversized spare tire on the front.

16.2, I think If I could have rang it out I would be in the 15's, but I wanted to drive home too.

Now the clutch needs to come out and new front tires before I leave for the pileup on Thur. :)

Thanks Kontinentals, I had a great time once again
Thanks Buzzard for getting me the timing tag.

RACEFAB, thanks a ton for all of your help with the head choice and all of the advice on my setup in general. With brand new heads, I would have been inclined to clean 'em out with some air and bolt them on. I'd have been really pissed and ended up missing the drags if I had done that.

I am real happy with the times and with the seat of the pants difference. I've never had to worry about breaking the tires loose getting on the highway in 3rd!

Keith's coupe was really quick. I ran him twice. One of his 60 ft. times was 1.5?. I mean, he was just gone. Ran 11's on just motor our first p***, and well into the 10's when he sprayed it. El Jefe came up asking me why he was in the Gas cl***. All I could say was, "It doesn't look that fast".

Collin, Congrats on your best times. Not posive it's going to be heads up or not. Vote on the poll in the Drags section. But a blower would be fun, either way. Thanks for the ******* Sat. nite. xoxo, your pal buzz

Rusty, I feel you pain. I left the track with a last p*** of 99.86 two years ago. The car looks and sound great. You'll be all over it next time.
