I agree on naturally aspirated versus power adder...I thought the point was no nitrous because it was some new fangled thing... Now that I have inserted my foot into my mouth, I will promptly shut the hell up.
How about a blown Flathead with NOS....dang, gonna have to get some new rods for the engine, along with bigger slicks, and maybe some "oil dry" for the track...this is a sickness ....hahaha Skot
I think that would be a good match for the cars in the stock cl***, or MAYBE gas coupe/sedan, if it's realllllly breathed on
Deep thought`s !by jhon *******ie ! last week , was fun but I only had 3 cars to race ! The time trials, where the only fun I had , won 5 out of 7 kicked a lotof small block chebys buts ! I liked it better when I could race every body that showed up ! and if I lost then I could still race in the flathead cl*** ! I got bored waiting to loose a race I could not win ! and watched the races, that I never get to see when Im racing the other way , cause Im alway`s up there ready to go ! to the next round , that`s more fun to me ! the races were boring when 1 car went by and then a couple of second`s another car went by it just seemed like watching trafic ! this race , I only went down the track 8 times ! and sat around wanting to race ! the last race before , this great new idea ? I got to race everybody ! ran 17 times and won the flathead eliminator trophy and never had a chance to sit down ! and only saw the races from in side my coupe ! and at the starting line ! I felt realy out of place in the bleachers and on the side line , when there where races going on , with old car`s and I wasent , down there giving them hell ! I think people way smater then us a long time ago came up with bracket racing from trial & erour! and it`s shure been woorking for a long time ! this is gong to turn in to the dallas car show , where they make a cl*** for every car so everybody get`s a trophy ! it ****`s
dude, if it's not fun for you then stay home. this event is not made and will not be changed to suit you....you want to do it your way, then start your own drag's get together. So quit complaining, or lighten up, come out, and have a good time. Also! take some time! and browse through a book on the english language! believe it or not! , the exclamation point! You're right... it prolly was a lot more fun when you could just make unlimited runs up-n-down the track... racing who ya wanted, then getting right back in line and doin' it again. Baseball is also alot more fun when you get to stay at-bat and don't have to stand around in the outfield sometimes.... right? But that's not how the game is organized. Like it or not, the little event at Little River has grown up, so breaking it up into cl***es is apparently necessary to keep it organized. Still fun as hell, right?
K.I.S.S. We use this term at work. Keep it simple stupid Sometime you gotta try to keep it simple so it always stays fun. There will always be somoene faster than you. You can gaurantee that. I dont care what yall decide to do. I am gonna come down even if I have to line up next to a supercharged acura integra that is running 10 second times. The whole part of racing is that you are racing yourself. Getting in that zone that you are the only one on the track. If you spank a friend that just adds to the excitement.
I saw next year heads up, grudge match, race who you want only. I did'nt even run but had more fun watching Boom Boom and Dirty 31 getting ready for their final. Lots of talk all in fun and I think everyone was loving it. Then the Bubbaluv-BoomBoom match that never happened and I'm sure will carry into next year. Ford vs's Buick talk and Ford vs's SBC. It was too much fun.
Just wait until next year....Collin(Casey) will be running a blown Flathead and it will not be as consistant, but a faster runner...THEN he will be FOR the heads up racing(not the "everyone is equal, feel good bracket racing" that the modern world went to)...it was just up to Graham and I to get him started on a blower motor after the races, we know how to get him over to the "Dark Side" ....HAHAHAHA

Nicely put ! cl***es are fine , watching 10 second cars , run, against 13 second cars, is just bad math ? looking foward to the hill country (RACE ! ) that I can race ! my car , with (all !) the other hot rod`s ? I wanted to race last !weekend but they wouldn`t realy let me ! I still had fun ? HELLYEA ! but being competive , and flying across the finish line not knowing if you won or lost by .001 ! I just got used to that I guess ? and I hope it goes back to bracket`s ! cause It killed the thrill of the race !! most of the races were over !1/2 way down the track ?
Ya know....many moons ago they had g***er cl***es(which is what we sort of fit into) that were broken down to cu in to weight brackets, where a person did all he could with what he had to be the fastest in that "bracket"(damn, I hate to use that word). The faster the cl*** the more fun it was, cause everyone was running as fast as possible and the cars were more unpredictable than the slower cars....to me, this was the real deal...and there was no such thing as brake lights before the timing lights...everyone just wanted to go as fast as possible...which in turn got folks to build faster(more fun to drive, to me) Real Hot Rods. A case in point, will be if you follow through with Graham and I in building a faster car with one of those "dreaded blowers". Then, as I see it, you will have some definate suspension upgrades that will be an advantage verses my "on purpose, old timey suspension". You will have a "car to be beat", not one to be "more consistant than"(my case in point was the convt Pontiac with auto trans....heavy, slow and extremely consistant.....I'm sorry, but that to me is just not fair when running against some 11 second Hot Rod that was a running the **** out of it to win, that, to me, just isn't racing....my humble opinion here, since they seem to be getting aired out). Shoot fire, I will probably have to do more stuff to the 3w just to beat you, much less Graham!!!!!!(see I know how to use exclamation marks also, learned it from you...) I know that things need to get worked out, but since you, and your "bracket opinion" is getting so much "air time", I just wanted to make sure that some of us that like heads up are heard also..... I guess that its the Hot Rod Politician in me coming out....hahaha. You are right, the Hill Country drags will allow you to make a whole lot more runs because of your consistancy.....BUT, that may change if you go with a faster car and start running more on the ragged edge....this will all prove to be very interesting. I personally like the direction that the Kontinentals have taken with the style of cars and having fun with cars at the Roundup and Drags as I have gotten tired of the "regular street rod scene". I saw it progress from Peoria 1970 where I actually drove my Hemi powered A roadster in the gymkana after driving it up there. Spun the slicks and made noise with a Hot Rod... I saw that turn into an outdoor car show where the fastest thing was a "rag rubbing the wax off"! I did the Nationals thing for 32 years(note the #) and got bored with it. This new/old revitialation was one of the coolest things to get me going in years. Once again, just my humble opinion being expressed here AND trying to get more "heads up air time"....hahaha Skot...."the humble Flathead politician"

I feel so mutch like , luke skywalker ! right now it`s kinda scarrey ? Iv`e got one guy that may or may not be my father ? trying to get me to join the dark side ! and then, last night me and yoda ! went to look at a blower up north ! at a denny`s far far away ? to try to defeat him ! man my dog chubacka ! even said thing`s are just getting wierd around here ! make`s me glad I never slept with my sister ? also looking for crew ! must look like harrison ford ! to help us fight our way through, the rounds ?
