how do you guys keep from getting sidetracked onto acquiring another "project" while the one you got isn't driveable yet let alone done! [IMG]

I seen that little flat black 34 chevy coupe yesterday and been thinking of just about nothing else but where to start combing the country side to find one of my own!

guess I should have just stayed home yesterday and never seen it and all would be normal

I suppose reality of the cost to do such a car would soon set in and I'd forget about it but man that was the nicest car I seen in person [IMG]

I have changed my mind on how I'd like to have my truck look when I'm done and gonna slow down a smidge and not worry about getting it out this year

Well the wife nagging at me about the cost involved in the current project definately keeps me from aquireing any more. [IMG] Work on your current project a little each time you have the chance, a little progress will keep you motivated.

Be broke with no room to store anything else, and you won't have to WORRY about it! [IMG]

    (Hey, works for ME! [IMG])

I know what ya mean, though...I just about cry everytime I see a 52-54 Mercury...I really want a chopped and sectioned 54 with a tricked y-block someday...in addition to the three OTHER projects I wanna build in the next decade or so!

For now, though...I'm actually happy with the rusty old Chev...always loved 49-54 Chevs as well, and this one is my Baby! I wake up every day wishing I could do more to get it on the road quicker, but it's a question of finances! It IS getting closer, though! SHOULD have the new motor and ****** in and mocked up for mounting fabrication next weekend, then it'll need a new rear axle, driveshaft and brakes. A bunch of other stuff hooked up, and it oughtta be able to move around a little anyway!

BIG task...bringing a vehicle back to life, but it'll get there...eventually!

(Just gives me MORE time to fine-tune all the details in my head related to those OTHER projects I wanna do someday down the road!!!!!)

I was talking to ModelAcoupe about this the other day.

What I found works for me is to get out to the shop even earlier than I get up for work (5:00 am), and not turn on any music. Yeah, no tunes is the trick for me. I stay focused and can get a good amount knocked out in the four hours before my wife and daughter get up.

I figured I have spent enough time daydreaming, now it's time to get it done.

yea i was just thinking the same thing. im getting bored with my chevy. and dont even look forward to working on it. i have another project in mind and just keep thinking about that. but i use the fact that once i get the chevy all back together i can sell it to finance the new project!! if the wife lets me. i was informed last weekend at billet proof that she did not want me to get rid of the chevy. but she said that to all my cars. she even cried when i sold my 61 coupe deville. but i tell ya what im ready for a hot rod. kinda bored with the kustom stuff. i just wanna go fast now!!

well I ain't got much extra money to spend on my current project right now so another one certainly isn't going to get done any faster!

I'm by no means discouraged with the truck I'm working on right now but seeing that car sure was/is distracting [IMG]

I haven't listened to any music since halls and oates was making tunes so I really don't get distracted by that stuff, although I did admire that spider bait video black betty more than once!

I will be keeping an eye open and an ear to the ground for any potential prospects though and drag home what I can and try to stash it someplace unseen should I happen to find one! [IMG]
