    Kirk,

Nice one. Probably about where I started with mine.

I hate to bust your bubble, but you aren't getting it as low as you show it in your photoshop rendering without a bunch of work. You will need to notch the frame, change the rear floors, alter the gas tank, 4 bar it (paralel leafs wont work unless you move the gas tank into the trunk or somthing) etc, etc,.

You can get it a bit lower in the rear than the stock height of the front without too much chopin' and cutting but it is still going to be pretty high off the ground.

Nice car and they still look good tilted to the rear just a little bit.

I played with the green car,and had my hands on it. Depends on your vision this time= is it close?( to your specs) is it what you REALLY want, can you see yourself IN it? Is it you? Some things to ponder.....Cool **** comes and goes, but if it's your gig,by all means-Jump!

Yeah, I know. I'd run it high for a while and just keep chipping at it.

  6. OK, let's get this right. IF you sell your Ford for a LOT less than anticipated, you can buy that *****en 36, and pay off only one of your credit cards? My God man, just how much did you spend on "May cause bankruptcy"?

I don't know man... It is missing that Freddy Mercury flair. Will you be able to handle something so sedate?

I don't regret buying mine, and I don't regret selling it. Wish I coulda made money on it, though.

What I think it's worth and what I spent are two different things. There's a lot more blood sweat and tears than cash invested.

After reading through this entire thread, I have a couple of thoughts to add...

KIRK! - I love the liner, but I love a 36 3window even more. You are buying and selling in the same market...What you lose on one you get the opportunity to make on the next. I think you are doing the right thing if it all goes well.....And I am a huge fan of buying the older resto and chipping away at it.

50Fraud - Good god, man. You have had and currently have some *****en cars!

Shock733 - You are truly a man with vision for saving that one!;)

    Good luck...cool cars.

A '36 3Window is on my wish list. I'd go for the deal, cool car AND enough money to payoff a credit card, that is a WIN WIN in my book. Merry Christmas! Bob

I am currently living the dream. I have a 36 3 window and I love it. I do however own another car to take folks around in when I need more room. Here is a picture.

I was looking for a '38 Deluxe Fordor (for the family) when I found my '38 coupe. I was torn too. A good friend asked me "How many times does the family actually go somewhere with you in an old car?" In my case, that wasn't much. He told me to buy the damn coupe & never regret it.

    I did... & I didn't.

Put the kid or wife in the rumble seat & GO!!! Or put the wife & kid in the coupe & pilot the Legion Special yourself.

I just don't see how buying a good '36 3wd, in this market, could ever be a bad decision. Hell, even if you ended up hating it, selling the SOB should be easy. It's not like it's some acid-trippin' east coast KKOA '60 Bruick morphodite.... ;)

I had a *****in 35 five window recently and a the debt to go with it. It also wouldn't fit my kids in it at all. I sold it and kept my 67 econoline van which fits all of them comfortably. As cool to others? No way. Road trips and a few bucks with the whole crew to build memories on? Absolutely.

Your car is awesome and so is the coupe. I find MCD to be way more unique of course so I actually dig it more. I have no advice at all here and now have no idea why I spent that much time typing. You'll be stylin no matter what ya do here.

KIRK!, that 3W is soooooo damn *****in, I'd be all over that. No offense dude, but I dig it way more then the liner...but I am an early V8 guy. Besides, with that beast Thee Inland Emperors would have another piece to the complete collection of 36's...we have a 5W, Tudor, Woody, pickup...with your 3W we just need a Fordor, cabrilolet and a roadster :D

I'm a proud owner to a 35 3W, I love this car, but I can say it's definitely not a family car even with rumble seat.
I have two young kids and they ask me every time for a ride with the 35, that I do but only and only for a short ride, I mean it's to dangerous and uncomfortable for kids, the last things that's a want it's hurt them with it.

Anyway I don't regret to have it, so Kirk if you can, do it!

The real question should be do you have a wife? If so then she'll be able to make a clear and wise decision for you concerning the matter. If you do not have a wife, then the 3w is plenty big for you and your daughter.

Agreed, JJ! Not only was that car awesome, it was light pink! And... it was the P bros race car before it was relegated to push/tow duty for the whacked coupe! Awesome and totally gay at the same time!:D

I thought that car was a very white creamy color. I have only see a few of that car like on the cover of The Birth Of Hot Rodding. Awesome none the less!

I have one of those. She pretty much lets me do what I want when it comes to cars. She shakes her head a lot, but she lets me do what I want. Pretty awesome.

Yeah me too! That's why I am in the same boat hahaha!!! Baby on the way and nowhere for the wife to ride.:D:D:D

She does help shed light on situations when I nickle and dime **** to death though. It's weird, she seems totally fine with big purchases like when I bought a '32 5w and my '35 5w in the same day but god forbid I order $20 in old issues of Hot Rod without her knowing. Then I get the look.:D:D She controls all of our money. I could not tell you the last time I looked at the the bank account. Years probably.

Thank god for a good wife.
