Sounds very familiar. I have a hot rod allowance that comes out of our paychecks. I also supplement it with buying and selling stuff. I don't look at our bank accounts either. Mostly because if I saw $100 in there I'd spend $150 on hot rod ****!

I find the same thing as Laurent. I don't put our kids in the rumble seat on ours. Guess it is all about what kind of dirving you plan to do with it. We have a model a with a rumble seat and stuff the kids in that but it is just local driving at 45 mph. With the other cars, I like to get out there and get somewhere. Just don't feel comfortable sticking someone out back there. I must be getting old. :)

Kids grow up fast. I would say buy a car for the family now and pick up a 3 window coupe later. Can't believe I would tell anyone to p*** on a coupe.

  3. It would be tough to beat that Starliner, but a '36 3 window just might do it. Maybe.

Kirk, that is surely one sweet 3-window. There is not a day that goes by that I dont wish my tudor was not a coupe. As for wanting a sedan for the room, before I got the sedan, my wife ,first daughter and I would go EVERYWHERE in my 36 Chevy pick-up truck. I believe that the 3-window has more room than my truck so shun the desire for a sedan and go for it. If you miss out on the coupe, I could always work something out with you on my tudor!!!! get that ****er before its gone, Mike.

Thanks Kirk , good luck with the coupe. Do you think you'll miss MCD ??? That liner is probably the nicest in the WORLD. Hope you're making the right decision. Mike.

The bottom line is that it's too nice for me. I'm used to throwing my **** in the car and taking off, jumping in greasy after wrenching - you know, treating it like a car, not art.

I love the Starliner and the journey that was building it with Alex and crew, but I can't own something that nice.

i say go with the 60 buick. you will have nothing but problems with that flathead. they are unreliable, they overheat, and have absolutely no power..

You are such an effin thread killer!!!!:)>

    isn't a 60 Buick just like a 60 Starliner?

except not as nice cause Kirk's starlinger is the nicest.

I would rather be broke down on the side of the road in that 36 than driving that ****-ugly Buick. Hope you find what you want, Kirk-patience pays off-it's a buyer's market right now.

  20. I cant believe that MCD hasnt sold already! I guess its just an indication of how slow the economy is! I love the 36,I think the plan is great ,just modify slowly as time and money permits. Just dont rip it apart like I usually do and get too far into it DRIVE IT!!
