I know the Daytona Mig welders have been discussed but I'm looking at one of their plasma cutters. Anyone had any experience with the Daytona plasma cutters. I've been told that they are made in the U.S.A. Anyone know by who? Their smallest 220 volt unit is the one I'm considering.

    Thanks

  2. I just want to say this- they sent me a welder and it looked like it fell of the truck and was ran over- it even knocked the blade off the fan it was hit so hard/ housing was bent to hell- then put in a perfect box and shipped to me. after UPS left it I opened it up and called them- they would not even talk about it -said to get UPS to replace it . well long story short I never got squat from either them or UPS - I sold it for one third of price to a guy who wanted to fix it up.......Yes I was impressed with their company. [IMG]Be cautious/buy it where you can see it- I guess!

Years ago when Daytona Mig started selling Plasma cutters I bought one. It was Italian built. I have had good luck with it although it is only a 110 Volt unit. It works fine on the thin stuff and is rated for up to 3/16 Steel. For the price I am very happy. I don't know about the new machines but you do have to get the consumables from them as none others fit.

The reason I'm shopping for a plasma cutter is my best friend wants to buy one to put in my shop. I'm not going to argue with him about it. I just figured I could be a good friend by finding him the best possible. I will be using it doing body work and light fabrication. I just bought a Henrob torch I am waiting on my new regulators to come in to start using it.
