I think this third cover I got might be from a Packard. Main thing, the hole in the middle is bigger and I think it'll accept a full-sized wheel cover. I really like the more antique look with the earlier smaller hubcaps, but I also imagine matching Dodge Lancers or similar on the spare tire cover and the wheels.

Our time frame doesn't include aluminum "mag" wheels. But quite a few guys sported some pretty fancy wheel covers.

    Well, Ricky;
This pic is just about perfect, & has proper proportion. You could do worse than to emulate it... :) .

    "Toilet seat". Mikey
    Continental. Not incontinent.

You might be able to get me a hubcap, Oliver? That would be great. But please don't go to great lengths... only if it's easy to do. If not, don't fret. The caps do come up here and there.

Look at the difference between the covers on the two Dodges that Mr. Mikey posted. The '34 has a big hole to show off the wheel and cap, and as I said earlier, could accept a full wheel cover. The '35 cover is fully enclosed and has a small hole to carry a smaller older style hubcap.

By virtue of its drivetrain, my project will be a late 50s early 60s style build. And some fancy wheel covers would be a natural for a glitzy hot rod. But I think I want to pay tribute to an older simpler more subdued look. For that reason I'm more inclined to go with the fully enclosed cover and a small Dodge Brothers hubcap.

No Dodge hubcap trees around here, though. I looked.

    Thanks, Danny.

Not a lot to show right now.
Still grinding, sanding, smoothing the engine when I have time.

Running into a little bit of what some of you have experienced. Finding that parts availability isn't the best right now. Do you know, you can't hardly find cam bearings right now? At least for this engine. Luckily, mine are good, but it makes a difference on how I proceed. No hot tank, oven or blasting at a machine shop. All surface prep is up to me.

Ever see anybody sandblast an engine? You're gonna.

I've been in a situation many times where I can't get there for various reasons. I've had a fair amount of success buying things sight unseen. If you're comfortable with the price and the pictures, see what you can do to make a deal.

They put a pin in my toe with a pretty little pearl on it. I think the pearl serves as a handle for when they yank it out.
Lots of work on the big toe, too.

All I know right now is
    OWWWWWWW... CH.

Can't put any weight on it for a few weeks. So I'm of course really limited on what I can do for a while. But it'll be a good excuse to just sit and continue sanding on the engine.
I'm thinking I'll probably end up doing a really really good job. LOL

Still keeping my eye out for parts that come up that I might like to use.

    Picked this up yesterday.
    Early '20s Hupmobile.

Maybe I'll mount it upside down ala Model T.
Finish it real nice... put a shiny polished acorn nut on there...

Can't drive right now cuz of the foot. Judy's been doing the driving. Including the last couple of parts runs.
    Thank you, Judy.
