    Hi,

I just bought a 1/8 hp right angle DC motor to power my bead roller.

Still on a learning curve here (in other words I dont ****** know:rolleyes:) regarding hooking up a Dc motor.

When you see others hooking up their motor kits, I dont see any transformers, or curcuit boards, etc.

I do know its not a straight plug in.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks all,

    Ken J

  2. What voltage is your motor?

On one I used a off the shelf SCR controller - RELATIVELY CHEAP. On another we made a little ciruit - depending on motor voltage you likely need a tranformer. IIRC the one I am thinking of utilized 90VDC motor which works out real well after it's rectified. I'm sure you can look up some basic schematic on the web.

You need a controller but I don't think 1/8 hp will do the job. I have a 3/4 hp d.c. motor on my bead roller with a Reliance variable speed drive.
