Most guys have it turned the other way . Fit great either way . Mounted this way cause it made a fairly flat surface toward front . I think , and will find out this week , when I start my bead rolled Al. Panels .
Mounted the filler spout on gas tank . Then being bored and feet hurting I decided it was time to start the interior. Started in the rear at the rear window and headliner. Made a curved piece on my radius horse , stole the idea from Gene Winfield, that will start at package tray and go around to the first foot of headliner . Did a nice deep diamond pattern. Will do the next two panels in morn . Beadrolling on a curved piece is not the smartest thing I’ve ever done but know how now . Plan is to do the center first . Build the two corners on the powerhammer, then the curved sides of headliner for both sides . Then door panels . Blue
Well I rolled the next headliner panel . Made the diamonds a little deeper and didn’t sneak up on them . This stretched the material more and gave it a curve . I will work it a little and it should match the crown of the bows in the top . Will cut the hole for interior light and mount it into the other panel and check the fit . Haven’t decided if to polish or not . It’s a little crowded as you can see , best lighting shop .
Yes , it was heavy , us loading it into the back of my 4 wheel drive truck camper . I don’t know about the dumb part but u can lift heavy things , like the big ass generator into the back of your SW on the same trip . Oh yes , up on my trailer was your SW . LOL it’s all good and your a good friend! Blue
Two down and mounted . Started making patterns for rest of headliner . Pole dancer came with the car . Going to run gas lines and the long battery cables .
I don't know your seating position but it MAY be that those lights MAY be pointed towards the front but MAY be needed to be turned around.?? I had them in an ot car and they were pointed more downwards yours MAY point over your shoulder and out the front window the way they point now. Unless they swivel???
Good catch , Bang . If turned around it will spot in very rear . I will check it when I get the seats in . Can’t really tell yet but looks like it will shine on dash . Left the wires long above . Little tweaking may be called for . Blue
I have one of those same dome lights in my 75 F250 four door, came out of a big Mercury. It's mounted in the center and just behind my shoulder. Shines on my (or my passengers) knees. Just right for reading a map or document, or, haha, when I built the truck 30 years ago, just right for reading the label on cassette tapes.
Not a focused beam. Lights an area a couple feet square at knee level. Mine does anyway, might be different lenses in some models.
Got the battery cables ran with a shutoff , also ran the fuel lines , pump filter, from tank to the fore wall . Since I’ve got the fuel lines ran I went ahead and took off the tunnel ram and gas sucking carb off . It worked fine from 3500 up but not so much for cruising. Replaced with a new speedway setup and carb . Should be a little nicer on street and better fuel economy. Will sell the tunnel and carb for 150 + shipping . Can deliver to LSR .
Why does all the little stuff take so long? 88 here today and had to catch up on some BS around the outside of the House. Did getmost of the engine buttoned up I had this old pop top 7 oz PBR can I was saving to make a shift can out of but cut it up and made a coil cover out of it . Fit great . Only got to work in the shop for about an hour or so but warm again tomorrow and hope to be out there all day . Blue
I love seeing a nice car turn into a beautiful car in skilled hands. Enjoying your post and your build. ~ Carl
Finishing up some little thing this morn when my A.D.D. kicked in and decided to change the look of the front . Need to get lights where I needed them for wiring. I think I like it just need to square it up and make some mounts . I have an idea for a hood I’m going to build in the future . Before: After : I think I will like the slope of hood . Blue
Been around a while, but new to posting. But wanted to comment on this tin work . Looks big time. Steady handed for sure.
Got the rear side glass in with all new felts and rubbers and cranks . Should be Abel to finish the inside aluminum now. Also built the last floor pan . Tacked it in . Punched the corner holes with dimple die , cut between them . And took this little t dolly and rolled up the rest . Should make the hole stronger . Now just make a cover for master cylinder and seam sealer . Onward thru the fog . Blue
Laying on that cold sheet metal floor yesterday while finishing up the wiring, making it nice and neat , was not fun . Today I dynomated and started dynolineing it . Will be nice and comfy tomorrow. This should make it quieter . Got my new tires in today . Now if the wheels would get here . Love the look of them . Getting closer . Onward through the fog . Blue
Hey Blue, don't get any cactus in those tires when smoking them up out on the lone prairie. Ha You're really getting this A bone sorted out and making a serious statement, looking good. Dan
Made some brackets for drivers seat and modified some A brackets for passenger. Finished the insulation on floor and started fitting the floor I’m going to use . Should finish it in morn. and start the rest of the Al. interior on Tuesday. Taking the first week on March off to take my wife camping . Happy wife . Happy life ! Blue Haven’t trimmed yet .
