Hello, this is totally off-topic but here are the only car people that I know in the US so please read:
I am looking for some serious, honest, dependable (classic) Mercedes Benz Dealers that should be worth a visit at the US west coast. We are looking for coupes and cabrios from 1980 to 1990, preferably with the big V8 engines. A roadtrip is planed for next year and the icing on the cake would be to visit and buy one or two of these nice cars. Maybe there is a US forum for classic MB cars. Any link or suggestion where to look is highly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Best of luck to you! I will mention that dealerships in general and used in particular are not the most well thought of. They are limited to what they can find to recondition and sell while the business costs continue like clockwork. Being in a High Cost Of Living area provides more contacts but more costs.
This can also be where a big front can hide issues until it all falls down. Look at CNC Motors. Exercise as much if not more caution as buying from a private party.

Can you get what you need out of Japan?

Japan is of course a good source but we want to travel part of the westcoast.
