Ran kind of slow. Not much traction for me. I made a second pass, it was even slower. The throttle linkage was fun. I went to test that it was opening all the way after I got the car switched over to race, and it snapped! So I got to remove the arm, which is right behind the head, and almost impossible to reach. After the driver meeting. I talked to the guy who runs the driving school, he said they had a shop and no one was there who could weld it, but I could use the equipment. So he gave me a ride over in the golf cars, and I talked to one of the staff and they set me up. I didn't get the weld small enough, so I had to spend a while with a rat tail file opening up the hole, then another hour it seemed getting the thing to finally fit on the shaft, and tighten the nut. Can't really see it, can't really reach it, one of those great designs. But it's all better now
Of course.... The drive today wasn't too long, but it was warm out, around 100 most of the day. I'm planning to visit Colin (lumpy63) in the morning....should be fun A couple pictures. I need to take more, but I always seem to be busy!
The results are posted for day one https://www.sickthemagazine.com/event-results Looks like I'm not the slowest car, at least There are no classes at this event, just an overall winner.
Yes First pass right lane. Spun in second 7.25 at 89. Can't upload picture, not enough signal out here
I ended up getting stuck at the shop with customer cars ... My friends Steve and Don Said Jim made a great showing
The video updates are mostly a daily video that covers some stuff that happened the day before. https://www.youtube.com/@sickthemag/videos One of the guys who makes the videos rode with me last night the last stretch, to the hotel, so I may end up in there.
