Update: OK I mounted the shocks up farther and also used some longer shocks. The ride now is much more comfortable no more hard hitting on bumpy roads, but still an issue at 55mph or faster. Going to schedule an alignment now I'm not sure what else to do. This is really aggravating!!!!

Try to find a place that can spin balance the wheel, tire and hub/rotor on the car. I have had similar issues with a camper trailer and have removed the whole rotating assembly and had it spin balanced as a unit. Mark one stud and the corresponding hole in the wheel to remount in the same position. The hub/rotor could be out of balance depending on country of origin !! Also jack the front up and rotate the tires to check for up/down or side to side run out.

Steering damper for death wobble issues.

  4. As mentioned above. Steering damper. I had this problem and I put one of those So-Cal units on and never had a problem again..

  5. I've had issues at high speed for years until I finally figured it out.
Got my bias ply tires shaved and then it was gone!

Turns out that while I was building the car (about two years) it has been sitting in the garage and developed flat spots. Only way to get rid of them is shaving or replacing...

Had a low speed wobble on mine. Changed everything but the kitchen sink.... Broke down and put a VW dampener, stabilizer on it. Wobble is GONE. Like a different car.

hopping at highway speed was an issue I solved with my T-bucket. went through EVERYTHING and found 1 rear tire had an over-sized tube in it with enough extra to create a crease and balancing the tire was fine until the crease moved under a hard launch....changed the tube to the proper size and all wheel hop went goodbye.

  8. i had this issue also. i had new tires that were balanced at a regular tire shop. the bounce happened at freeway speeds. at coker tires suggestion i took them to a shop with a hunter road force balancer. this way of balancing applies a load to the tire to simulate driving conditions. i thought it was b.s. but tried it anyway. it turned out the tire was junk and needed 32 oz. of weight. this was a tire that was just balanced. i was so impressed i took the other three tires there. they were all off some to. what a difference. i have to pass quite a few tire shops to get to the one i use now and its 25 miles away. the car is nice and smooth now and i used to be able to watch the drivers side tire bounce off the ground.
