Started on the other side, need to crown it more once the body comes back off...........need to finish this before I finish the inside sheetmetal work..................................Littleman
I am so bummed for some reason your pictures dont come up on my computer, I dont know why. It stresses me out, I feel like the kid that is getting left out of the game. Jimmy White
Just when I think you can't make that car any more amazing, you go and do something like this. That car is going to be unbelievable. Here ya go Jimmy:
B***, thanks dude, how did you do that? You know how I am a computer retard... That car is fantastic it kind of reminds me of my friend curtis model a that is at the shop right now. Littleman you are a king. Jimmy White
Firstly, like EVERYthing with that car, I like it.....I imagine they will get ducted to the radiator? Looking great regardless. Cheers, Drewfus P.S. been thinking about your dash issue, for me, I'd cut down a 35 dash, whack 2 gauges in it, with the tacho hanging off the column......just enough to be cl***y, without being complicated or looking out of place.....just a thought.
Now that's cool in more than one way! Excellent stuff Dave! Can't wait to see what you come up with next!!! Max
Yeah what he said! This car is unreal, what is the plan where the fuel tank is higher than the deck lid?
Im in total awe everytime i open one of these update posts. you have one of the coolest cars ive ever seen.
What does the timeline look like for getting it on the road? You've been making some serious progress, good job.
Those look like 32 chevy or 33 (I can't remember which year) hood vent doors. Clark had that hood on his 32 he just sold. Look at some old threads of Clarks 32. Same doors and handles
Thats what I thought too. This thing just keeps getting cooler and cooler... Even the idea you ditched (the visor ducts) is awesome! I think it needs to be at the Autorama whether it runs or not.
Awesome! You could also duct air from underneath the car to the radiator to hide it completely. But the vents make you notice that the radiator ain't where it oughta be. Nice job man. Looks good.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, that car is unbelievable. I love it and can't wait to see it done.
Littleman, Your workmanship and creativity blows most of us off the planet. I have always been honest with my remarks regarding your build and I can imagine the work that went into placing the vents in. But I must agree with Flipper. A more traditional option would be to install permanent louvers with an internal flapper to shut it off. Good luck on finishing your build! I hope to see it in Detroit.
How can they not be trad enough if they look just like chevy hood side vents? And what is the difference if they are closed when the car is shut off?
Very cool idea!! They do look like the 32 Chevy hood vents. One thing to think about is the force of the air rushing over them at highway speeds. Think of how a suicide door got its name. I don't think the hinges will be strong enough. You may have to reinforce them. Clark
I like the vents, but... imaginge the cowl vent on a '47-54 Chevy truck. They are sort of 'pointed' and would act as a style/design element indicating a direction of flow or and arrow. r
WHAT HE SAID! My first impression wasn't a chevy, to me it looks like to stole the hood sides off a Packard or Duesey! I love it.
