That story completes that car. Cool Choice on the Chrome axle. That is the one thing that stands out and something that will probably be with the car its whole lifetime.

Sweet car and very touching story. I can't wait to see it next Sat in Detroit. Where in Ohio are you from anyways? I know a few old timers that used to race at the rubber bowl as well.

It's 9:30 in the morning and that got me teary eyed, being a step-dad that story means alot. You may want to change your name to Bigman there is nothing little about you.

I vote to keep the roof at this height - everyone chops go east coast and keep it high with nice flake paint job and tons of clear.

Another vote for leaving the top just the way it is,but it's your car and you haven't made any mistakes yet.
Now , on to your story. That was a touching tribute and I'm sure just a touch difficult to type out. I'm glad you decided to share it with us as the human side of this hobby is always just as or more interesting as the "nut and bolts" aspect. My grandfather provided the inspiration for me to get involved in mechanical things and not a day goes by that I don't think about him.
I'm anxious for Cobo to start so I can see your efforts in person and shake your hand, congrats on making the deadline.

When it's time. I'd chop it! It's to extreme to not be chopped. Congrats on a all the thrashing, it's going to rule Detroit.

Man, I totally understand that story. I'm lucky, I've got a dad and a stepdad that are both great to me. In fact, my dad painted my stepdad's Harley a few years back, so I guess it's a pretty healthy relationship. haha

Anyways, it brought a tear to my eye. I was one of the guys telling you not to chop it, but after seeing it in PS, I think I do like it with a wicked chop. Your call man, the car is outstanding!!

The look is far from anything else anyone else has out...

Painted and polished, that car is going to be a mind blower... and do the work involved justice...

    Rock on.

    Sam.

    I love that car Littleman!

And building it as a tribute to someone special like that makes it even better. I think he'll be riding shotgun with ya when ever your driving it.

First off, awesome car. Next, what a great way to honor you "Dad". I am a Step-Father as well and I hope I can make the same type of impact on my step sons life that he did yours.

  23. I have been following this build since the begining here on the hamb and all I can say is that car has perfect workmenship you should be proud. My vote is to leave it because everyone would expect you to chop it. Great story that's what cars and this hobby is all about. Good luck in Detriot. Scare children with that car please.

Congrats on bringing that car to life... You should be proud that you took an idea from its infancy and created something that reflects so many different elements...Great Job and don't stop!

Today was move in day at Cobo Hall in Detroit. I just got back from there where I met THE MAN AND THE MACHINE. If your within driving distance of Deoit this weekend be sure to make it to the show/ Do a quick tour of the upstairs then get your buns to the lower level and see Deaths Doorsteap in person. Th pictures are just a teaser. What we have here is a Chrysler Hemi with a model A engine stand.
Oh yea, there's plenty more to look at while your there, this year is better than last.

WOW!!! Your car is perfect in every way, and that's the most touching story I've heard in a long time. Makes me sick that I can't be at the show to see it this weekend, but I'm hoping to see it in person one of these days. Congratulations on building such a unique car!
