Little man that is gonna be a *****in ride:cool: .It shows a ton of planning and appears to be very well thought out and I don't want to seem critical butuuuttt...speaking from experience:) ,those drive shaft loops are way to big in diameter. They need to fit the shaft as tight as possible and still be able to plug it in.When the loops are that large ,if the shaft ever gets loose, large loops alllow it to run a big eliptic orbit and it will beat the livin' dog**** out of everything it can reach:eek: ,possibly even you, judging from the way the engine is set back and where it appears the drivers position is:eek:  .

Case in point, the weld ins for the front u-joint trunions on my buddies roadster ripped open pluggin' in high gear at the Cow Pasture Reunion a couple of years ago,the forward momentum of the car continued to spin the shaft even though it was disconnected from the trans(about 90mph) at that point, and the shaft beat the **** out of the floor, the shifter and consequently my hand which was between the shifter and the down tube under the main hoop of the cage.(Also destroyed the trans.)
I felt fortunate not to find a ****** stump in the glove,LOL it sure felt like it was gonna be when that shaft got done hammerin' it between the shifter and the cage(OOUUUCH).

Another case in point a guy at Denton Texas last year or the year before(I suffer form CRS occasionaly.LOL)kicked the rods out of a Pro Mod Vette and when the motor locked up the cars momentum broke the shaft in front and the shaft bent itself out of the loop and came through the floor and mauled him bad enough to take need a ride in the meat wagon.(mauled him is being conservative)

Even the loops you buy from Jegs,Summit etc. are too big,I downsize the loop diameter now when using them.

    Just a thought,T.OUT

You deserve every single pat on the back you've received.

You might not have Plasma...or a big bandsaw...or (in YOUR mind only!) not be the best welder around...but you DO have something thats far more important.

You have the "eye" for beautiful fabrication...
Thats something you CAN'T buy at any price.

Keep ****in'emup Littleman...it gives the rest of us something to aim for! :D

Absolutely awe inspiring. You should be building cars for a living, If you don't already. I am constantly amazed at the talent we have on the HAMB.

I was just thinking the same thing as I was scrolling down!!. It's almost a crime to paint that frame or put a body on it. It's a work of art!!!

"the truly mad are just like you and me......they just have better tools and alot more time".....Mark Twain

In Littleman's case, a good bandsaw and a ****load of talent. Keep them updates coming.

you need to vacuu-form a body out of lexan for that frame... :)

awesome. I like the rear kickup the best. Its not just the typical Z. Its well thought out and designed to function AND look good. Nice job.

    littleman,

I just want to say that the inspiration you've given me with every update is through the roof!! I think this thing will be talked about for years to come and I'm sure the end product will reflect all the work put into the ch***is as well!! You must be very excited at this point in the build!!

Thanks for the inspiration and keep up the fantastic work and the pics coming!

One more thing since you've destracted my entire work day and thinking capabilities with this thing...

It's hard to get past thinking about the ch***is right now because it RULES, but I was thinking about your drive train... I didn't see anything in the other updates so I thought I would ask. What have you done to the HEMI, ****** and rear end? (Cams, pistons, hop-ups, gears, etc.) I may have missed it somewhere so if there's already info somewhere, post me a link to it so I can see the specs.

    Thanks!

Dude, **** getting the plasma, I have one and want a band saw. What time you save cutting, you will spend grinding making them look pretty. Band saw cuts rule over plasma any day. Plasma works good for roughing **** in though, not for finish work.

    Hugs!

Band saw and plasma are both on my list. Saw is cheaper and cleaner.

Awesome update as usual Littleman. That thing will be a crowd pleaser where ever you go. Great work, no words can truely describe how your coupe looks. It is just simply amazing.

so where can we all get a resonably priced BandSaw? - Ebay=Bend over and they are all 3phase Super Industrial things that would take up an entire bay in the shop.

The cheapest Grizzly is like $1800 - but then again a decent Plazma is around $2000 as well.

Any other options for the bandsaw? - yeah i read about converting a wood bandsaw but that doesn't seem like a good idea - i would rather have one that is made for the job.

What type are you using Littleman? - i'm ***uming it isn't one of those "chop saw" horizontal types and is a vertical with a nice table :)

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what did you use to mate the powerglide to the 392? Is someone making a standard adapter kit for that now?

I've heard some mention of it but no one seems to be on the same page. I'm talking about the top. It would be a shame to chop it IMO. If you do it will look like a thousand others. I love how it looks RIGHT NOW. It is somewhat reminisent of the old east coast style somehow different. I wouldn't touch that top with anything but a can of WD-40. Another thought, why not get one of the distinguished artist types on here do a rendering of it W.O. a chop. I would like to see what Brush could come up with.

I'm an old fart so maybe this is clouding my judgement, but in case i didn't mention it DON'T CHOP THE TOP!!!!!

    Frank

P,S. If you don't chop the top be sure to have some t-shirts printed with the coupe on it. I'm in for a **L, maybe two.
