Our insulation sales were way down but I sold a lot of car parts. Picked up some items for the current project also. Had a good time visiting with lots of good folks so I would call it a success.

  2. Great swap meet. Prob my favorite texas swap meet

  3. That was a great swap meet. There was a plater there with no banner, no literature, business cards, etc. He had a grille wrapped up for my car. When I asked him to look at it, he said it was too much work to unwrap/rewrap it! wtf? I thankfully just walked away. I relayed that story to someone else there later, to which they replied..."oh, that's so-and-so (can't remember the name they gave), I'm surprised he's here, not good, lot's of guys have been looking for him. I asked if that was the guy a bunch of Hamb members had been looking for, he replied yup!
The Bumper Shop, who I bough a near flawless front bumper from last year also had a '57 grille..very happy to unwrap it. It was gorgeous. I got a new grille for my car now.

Pretty good meet. I dont care for the new people running the joint. They had "temporary" police enforced NO PARKING signs all around the outside perimeter of the meet so you were forced to shove out $5 for parking. Also tried to enter through the gate without a sticker so I could pick up some parts that I bought, but Barney Fife Jr denied me.
But aside from all that bs we picked up a set of wide whites and a 57 wagon. After we got the 57 loaded and started to head for the entrance some old geezer in his swap meet uniform stops us and asks us if we're joy riding around.
Yea nuthin beats drivin' round at 2mph with a fully loaded trailer in a packed out swap meet huh pops?

  5. Were you in the maroon dodge dually with the blue '57 wagon?

yup, your not the guy who told us to beat it are ya? Hahaha!
We pulled up in front of this guys space to load up the wagon and he got kinda mad.. Guess you can't blame him. Pay $30 for a space and then have someone park their truck in front of it.

  7. No, lol. You were a few spaces down from mine. I knew that '57 would sell pretty quick though. Did you have any spaces to sell, or only come to buy?

Came to buy. There were a few guys looking at the car before I was. I looked over the car and noticed that the floor pans had been cut out. I knew every guy that saw that would fall over backwards, so I decided to keep on walking and work my way back around. I called up my dad and told him about it and we ended up making a deal with the guy. We got her running up and down the road about an hour ago. Had to swap trannys because the one in it was locked up. Pretty sure thats why the guy sold it in the first place.

Haha! I remember when a huge sand storm blew in one time. The wind was blowing so hard it felt like your face was getting sand blasted. I thought every car out there was gonna lose it's paint job.

After living most of my life in west Texas (Lubbock area) it kind of made me feel at home. Still sucked though and most were complaining much more than me.
