I haven't missed it since 1989. I'll be there selling O/T (1960-72) GM truck parts. I don't have my tickets handy to tell the space numbers but look for my truck...

I will be the tall hillbilly with the mustache siting under the awning. Ask for Kevin.

  6. I'll be cruisin' the aisles Friday.

Attending the Sweethearts and Orphans show at Weatherford courthouse on Saturday.

  7. I go with a friend who sells golf carts and tools. I'm STILL looking for '28-'29 roadster windshield parts. Wouldn't miss Decatur!
Sand storms, snow, rain, sun. You never know! My friend almost got decked by a fiberglass hood one year when the wind got up! Still one of the most fun swap meets of the year, even if you come home empty handed.

I think it gets better and bigger every year I guess it depends on what kind of stuff your looking for . I get 2 spots every year and this year Im selling a 1940's car diagnostic cart that Im repainting for a pintripping table or shop computer stand with matching stools . and a bunch of misc motorcycle and car parts from my shop and if I have time some of my hot rod art work and my 49 dodge biz coupe.

Got a couple of spots on the far back west fence. Last year I got there and there were only 8 spaces left available in the whole place, and this was on Thursday!

Place gets bigger every year, and now look forward to it like I use to w/the old Pate.

Anyway, I'll be there w/a damn good running 65 Cuda if anyone is interested. HAMB ad here- http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=437150&highlight=barracuda

Best swap meet of the year and the first we attend each year. Always a great selection of stuff and of every kind of parts for every kind of cars. All the winter finds get debuted there.
Weather varies from bluebird beautiful to pouring rains to a ten inches of snow! Ya never know but it better more than it is not.

I'll be there again this year. Best swap meet of the year by far. Space CP1136 on the south end. We'll be selling our insulation, some mexican blankets and several SBC aluminum intakes, and a trailer load of crap. Oh and I'm building a few Chevy point type distributors converted to HEI.

  19. If I sell enough stuff to pay for the trip, I consider it a huge success. My car buddy of 36 years and I have the same eight spaces each year right down in the middle of the south field, where we and several other pals grill sausages, munch chips, drink beer, tell the same stories and laugh just as hard every year.

I'm thinking about bringing my '52 Buick Special Deluxe this year and try to get by with one sale, rather than bringing a truck and trailer full of odds and ends.

What kind of shape is the buick in?

  21. My Buick would fit right in at Decatur...parked for more than 30 years and damaged by exposure but still 98% complete...but I've got a deal working on it, so it looks a return to the previous, and typical, plan of going through a sizable pile of parts and taking stuff I'm not going to get to or no longer need.

  22. If the RPU doesnt sell by then plan on bringing it - if there are spaces - this was the first swap meet Dad and I went to back in the 70's and it's Feb - so the weather is always a big deal...any one have two spots extra let me know...
