6043327B-2F95-45C5-AFBF-5F2D13E6E3F3.png I saw the other day that H&H is selling a stock looking aluminum head. Does anyone have experience with this head or has anyone ran it? I’m assuming it’s something new that they are offering? What are your guy’s thoughts?

Could be one of Tod Buttermore's new ones.

  8. I am pretty sure it is not a Tod Buttermore head.
That chamber looks like the old Silberstein chamber. Pretty good from what I can gather.

^^^ Briggs and Stratton thought so^^^...a couple of heads came out at the same time with the same design..one guy poses the design with a stock top, the other beefs up his aluminum for cooling and support.

    Hi guys.

Well it's official. I am a banger owner!

I bought a B powered early A coupe out of the late Harold Johansen's estate.
    received_411094876765166.jpeg
This is it as it arrived in the country and released from quarantine 24 hours ago.

I have to give a big word of thanks, and express my gratitude, to Dan @Crazydaddyo for all his assistance with the inspection and my relentless question about this car and bangers in general. Couldn't and wouldn't have done it without your support.

It was drained of oil, and needs the brake linings put back on as they were removed to appease the Australian government Authorities, and a few other tidy up jobs in order to get it roadworthy to drive out here.

Anyway, one small question - you can rock the harmonic balancer a few degrees by using the fan belt. Bad or tolerable.

All the best to you guys (and gals), HNY and stay safe.

Stovebolt - damn, what do I call myself now?

  12. Good on Ya!, That is a nice Coupe.
I remember seeing it and the rest of the collection before Harolds passing and then when they started to go.
It is a good car, make sure to drive it within the limits of the construction and take care of it.
As for the balancer, you are probably moving the crank as well, if not fix it. more than likely the key is buggered up in the crank. If so, replace it with a alloy key, harder material.
As far as changing your screen name, it is fine, cocaine or heroin are easier habits to quit than Bangers.

    Happy New Year, John

    Hey Stolvebolt,
Congrats. Your a lucky guy !
Harolds ‘27 T , with the Riley 4-port and homemade “duval” type windshield...was a favorite of mine. Anyone know what happened to that jewel ? Maybe still around for sale ??

Here's a picture of my coupe when it was owned by Harold, B motor otherwise stock.
It has a B diamond block, winfield cam and head, single 97 on a burns intake, 12 volt.

Car has been lowered using a flattened and reversed eye front spring 33-36 axle, 32 spindles, perch bolts and front brakes. The rear has a T spring. The car runs 18" wires

I feel humbled to now be the caretaker of this car - the only plans I have for it is to make it a reliable, easy car to drive.

Here's an article about the man himself.

it’s an oil pressure warning light. When the tonneau cover is fitted I can’t see the dash lights, so added the extra one on the carb.

yup, that’s it. I have an adjustable pressure switch on the external oil rail that feeds the cam bearings, rocker shafts and oil mist jets for the valve chests. I have it set for 30psi. The light comes on if the oil pressure drops below that level. I expect the light to flicker a bit when the oil is hot and at idle, but that’s ok.
