    Hello all,

Well I decided to take the plunge. After a few weeks of contemplating. I've decide that I'm going to be doing a frame off on my wagon. I plan on making her my daily driver again, so I want to go through everything. I'm also planning on building and installing a trailing arm suspension in the rear. The verdict on air bags still isn't in though we'll see. And I'm seriously considering an aod over my C4. It will take a long while, but I will post plenty of pics along the way.

Just got the body onto the rotisserie. Now for the pressure washer and onto the rust repair. Will hopefully get started on the trailing arm setup in a couple weeks. Dumb***es who owned it before fixed the rust by filling the rockers and part of the floors with foam then put plastic filler over it. Idiots!!!

Gotta love quality repairs...Oh well, atleast you're doing the car right, have fun with the resto.

  8. I have seen lots of Bondo and fibergl*** repairs, but I have never found foam yet. It is amazing what you find when you start tearing something down.

Actually this was common practice,I bought and older book on how to do Auto Body Repair that was published in the early 70's and this was done so dealers could sell off used cars with less investment and more profit. In the book they break repairs into three catagories depending on the length of time a car would be warrantied or if the owner wanted a "keeper".

I've seen wood blocks, license plates, sections of street signs, galvanized steel, steel wool and bondoed up shop rags, along with the cl***ic 4 inch thick by 14 inch long blob of bondo, but never foam. Looks like the start of a nice car.

The shop is at work. Cl***room/shop. I have a few kids helping with the car. I should get more pics with the kids working on it.

Heres a few pics of what we got done today. Started cleaing the schmugma off the the undercarriage of the body. Also cut out the rear shock crossmember. Going to build my own and incorporate the shocks and the airbag mounts. Not that it matters, but none of the people in the pics are me.
