I guess there is just another reason I dislike Custom cars so much. Not only are most ugly, they are also confused.
Dang, I had no idea you built that from nothing, always assumed it was something modified. That’s some vision for sure.
I don't know anyone around me here with such a diverse collection of Hotrod/Custom automobila but having this front row seat and being able to share conversation with you about such issues is darn near just as good...Hey if this is just a look at these wild things and appreciate...just keep the reasons coming...I enjoy it all... I guess you'll find a solution, it's part of the big picture...I don't know how so many just send them off but the silver lining is something takes it's place...softening the loss...
My close friend over the last couple of years has really gotten serious with the Boogie van scene (In fact he bought an original survivor 75 Ford boogie van with wild paint that is now very patinaed he wants me to clear it to preserve what's left and he wants to fix the fiberglass street scene stuff that is on it but that's another story). I got to admit the 1970s can be cool but I'm a hot rodder and Even though I can appreciate a good van build I really dig the wild t buckets with ribbon painting, the gothic looking C Cabs with chrome big blocks and tight phone booths from about 1965 to 75 era. My A truck is going to be reminiscent of 1960 but I got to say the next one in the pipeline is going to be reminiscent to 1971
It's kinda like Art really...a mechanical painting aka life size model that mimics a real auto but still art...I guess that's a reality here as well...he can still sell it as art I'd imagine with all the paraphernalia that goes with it...with Moriarity that could be quite substantial but he would be the controller of the package of course.
I actually did sell the futurian once. I sold it back in 05 to Ralph Whitworth. He was starting a museum called "Americas car collection" in Winnemucca Nv. He also bought Roths Road agent and a few other cars from me. I can't really explain it but I saw the futurian a couple of times while Ralph owned it and I felt like a snake in the grass. the same kind of feeling I'd imagine you would have if you sold a child. I felt terrible. I had an opportunity to get my car back in 08 and did not hesitate in doing it. I can honestly say that I will not be selling it again....
Your Picasso's and Mona Lisa's have wheels...I get it...and they truly are Art in my opinion... You know everything you own with a passion...that's something most of us here have in varying degrees.
Stimulants of the mind were certainly involved to a degree without a doubt...but an Artistic mind can give that impression...with only fresh air and auto shop material fumes...some mitigated it with masks though others just stuck a smoke in their mouths and soldiered on...
