Decisions ... decisions

  1. The saucers look nice, but I like the caps and rings.

Why not find a set of gennie 50 caps and put on it?

I wouldn't lower it - or lower it any more if you already have.

You don't need scallops or flames either.
The car is outstanding as it is.
Don't do anything else to the exterior, march to beat of your own drummer and don't fall into the old trap of being like everybody else.

One of the big failings in hot rods to my eye is simply knowing when to stop.
And I'm as guilty as anyone far as stopping goes.

Picking on the T-Buckets for a minute - one of my very favorite cars fwiw - I see too many of them with too much . . . crap . . . yeah, crap hung all over them.
The best T-Buckets are the simplest ones.
The all-time best looking T-Bucket I ever saw was a few summers back at the A&W Saturday night rod run.
Single 4 bbl SBC up front and none of that impractical and in a way fake carburetion setup sitting nine miles high, short windshield, nice tan upholstery, orange paint with cream steelies, small caps and rings, forget what taillights, but the important thing here is the simple little T-Bucket had a presence and a draw that none of the overdone T-Buckets had or could hope to match.
To me, your 50 falls right into this area.

Leave it like it is and if you want to get creative, start another project.
Enjoy what you have as it is.

Nice, simple, clean, does it every time.... [IMG]

I like the caps and rings Rich. I'm with Rudy on the single bar flippers though. They would be cool too.

I agree with Flamin A Bone, either wheels and just add sand bags.

I'm with C9. The car is so clean I'd just call it done. I have always been a fan of dog dish caps and rings but would also like to see it with the original ones.

Originally I was with everyone else, and like the caps and rings. But now that I have seen the car in person, with the saucers on it, I like the look, especially if you lower it a bit more, like you want. -Joe

Thanks for all your input guys. From what was said I think it boils down to the stance of the car. Right now the ass end is a bit higher than the front which to me means more of a hot rod look than a custom look. So the caps and rings fit the hot rod look.
But lowering it in the back would give it a more custom look and the saucers (or 4 bars or 57 caddys) would look better. Yer a pretty smart bunch ya know that [IMG] [IMG]
