I'm wondering if anyone here has attended either of these shows or both of them and would give an honest opinion of the two... I recently moved back to the Chicagoland area and last year I went to the Back to the Fifties Weekend car show up in St. Paul where there was over 11,700 cars in attendance. It was fantastic and an amazing car show. weather was great, people were awesome and the cars... oh man, I don't even think I seen them all. I really want to attend again this year due to the sheer size and fun time of this event, However I've been wanting to attend the Indy Road Rockets Rumble on the same weekend in Indy as well. I'm sure the size of the show will be no where near the size of BTTF's but it is more oriented towards the scene I dig, rockabilly and traditional cars. Yet there was a whole hell of a lot of awesomely traditionally styled cars at BTTF's. Now my question is has anyone attended both and can recommend one or the other etc? I wish the Rumble was either the weekend before or after. Then I could do both. I wonder if they know that the BTTF's is always the 3rd wknd in June and it could potentially draw some of the crowd that would go to their show instead? As I'm sure plenty of people would like to do both but it's a hard decision?? Any thoughts... thanks.
Been to both of those and they are both wonderful events and as you know totally different from one other. You've experienced one already so why not experience the other then you can make up your own mind which one you want to attend next year. I'll make this every more complicated, I'm heading to the Hot Rod Reunion at Beech Bend race track in Bowling Green, KY that weekend......in my opinion, "better" then either of the ones you just mentioned. It's held on grass and trees in a park like setting with an old dragstrip that has covered bleachers. The venue just can't be beat. TONS of old vintage race cars, lots of vendors, swap meet, show and shine, lots of friendly HAMB friends from all over the country. Truely one of the best car weekends of the season. Decisions, decisions, decisions
