Hi all, I'm from northern Wisconsin and just happened across your site. I've got a 42 Ford flat bed P/U and am trying to decide wether to customize or rebuild as original. Sheet metal is in good shape along with frame and motor. The drive chain could use some help, trans, rear end etc. Any input would be appreciated. For instance a good frame to start with? Thanks looking forward to using this site.

Hi & welcome. Nice truck. If it were mine I would redo the wood in the bed and rails with some nicely stained boards as that gives these such a good look & just go from there. Upgrade the shocks & tires redo the brakes and have fun just driving it.
Likely that truck has a really low ratio rear end and you might find it better on todays road with either a different ring & pinion or another ford rear end with a better ratio.
It is not a race truck so make it a great driver.
