I am putting together a stroker Y Block to give away at this year's Symco Shakedown. I have a special Rod and Piston combo from a fellow HAMBer but I need to know the deck height on a 292 so I can double check my math and find out if there are other options for rods. I can't find it anywhere and don't have the caliper to measure my block. Anyone know what it is?
Find out how thick the head gasket is and shoot for .035 total, gasket + deck. Its not a contstant, it varys from engine to engine because of stack up tolerances in production even though Ford may have a spec for it they never are exact

Mine is at 9.755, but it has been decked and I'm not sure how much it was cut. I don't have the factory number in front of me, but you can give Ted Eaton a call and he can help you out. By the way here are the spec's on mine, bore 3.862, stroke 3.600, rod length 6.300, deck 0, = 337.37 ci.
