I just picked up a 29 Ford Roadster and the decklid that came with it seems to be the right width but its a couple inches too long. The decklid I got is about 35 3/4" wide on the top and about 34 1/8" long. its about 3" longer than than it needs to be. I was wondering if it might be a 32 decklid does anyone have dimensions of a 32? or and ideas what it could be?
My 32 measures 36" across the top. 35 1/2" across the bottom. Measuring over the curve it measures 33 1/2" I wonder if you have something along the lines of a Sport Coupe or Cabriolet. Those may be a different length - you may be able to tell by looking at the distance between*****pit rear and front of trunk lid. You may have a 30-31 trunk lid as well. I can measure my 31 if you like.
I'm with '32 Limey. I know the decklids for coupes and roadsters are different for '28-'29s. The coupe deck/rumble lid is shorter. Sounds like someone bolted a coupe lower panel into your roadster. Can you tell if that has been replaced in your roadster? Take measurements and compare with what '32 Limey posted.
One last time. Here is a pic of the inner structure if that gives any help. That lower panel on my roadster has the 9 1/2 one.
Its sure is tough trying to id the lid they sent with the roadster. I measured my 30 coupe lid and that will fit the roadster, but now I gotta come up with another one for the roadster. I sure wish i would have checked the fit on this before I bought it.
