Hot Rods Definition of the word( CRATE) motors

I always thought "crate motor" meant "Too lazy or stupid to build my own" ?

Like the dumb shit I ran into a few years ago who "built his 350 to NASCAR spec" just like it said on the felpro box.

Well, if you don't know what a crate motor is you'll never be able to buy one. By the way they are engines as motors run off electricity.

What would they know. A motor is electric an engine is fuel fired.

Funny how easily and quickly a bad idea is sucked up and then spread around. Just imagine if good info and ideas worked the same way.

 

I thought a crate motor was made out of wood. When you rev them up, they go "wooden...wooden...."
