cool. If you got the fuel tank with it, that would just be icing on the cake.

Hmmm..... You sound surprisingly familiar! LOL!

And all 2wd blazers from 98-up had dual piston front calipers.

If memory serves the GM G-body cars (Regal, Monte Carlo/Malibu, Cutlass, Grand Prix) front suspension pieces were the basis of the S10s. If that is true then the following link will be of use to obtain 12" brakes without spending a fortune.

    http://www.darklair.com/monte/12in-brake.html

Hope this is of use to somebody. I have had this info saved for my truck for a couple years now.

The problem with your 56 TF and an S-10, is an AD requires 2" spacers to get the wheels to fit where your TF is 5" wider than the AD. This is too wide to even use spacers. I would look into simply using the 73-87 1/2T IFS and either widening the IFS slightly, or Pinching your frame slightly and bolting it in. That would be much less work than a frame swap.

Thats correct, I used a 78 Monte front clip under a 51 Chevy back in the early 90s, I used S10 dropped spindles and changed the rotors over to a 92 Camaro front rotor. This is just from m emory but here are some years and makes.

    78-82 Monte,Regal, Cutlass, etc.
    82-92 S10
    82-92 Gm Metric Rotors

All of these work together, if I can find pics I will post the 51 Chevy.

    Hope this helps....................Later RP

thanks for that info. I guess that brings me to another question..... Would i be able to use a 65 frame or just swap onto a 73-87? Also , with just adding the 73-87 ifs , do you know how much will it need to be widened? Thanks for the help.

http://www.thehollisterroadcompany.com/C10ifs.html This link goes thru the pinching process

The other choice is to widen the crossmember the 2" with a section of steel and a few fish plates (or two crossmembers cut 1" past center), and keep your frame stock.

thanks for the info. Ill be heading out to a buddys house tomorrow to pick up the ifs from one of his junkers. I think im going with widening the ifs instead of narrowing the frame. Seems to be a little less hassle for the same outcome.
    Two questions though.....
    1. Has anyone on here done this? Any pics?
    2. Am i bolting the ifs to the frame or would i be better off welding it straight to the frame?

    Thanks guys!

There are a few conversions on stovebolt.com. I suggest doing a search.

Bolting is fine, there are 8 or 10 holes that you need to drill

The 41 Ford 2dr I recently bought is set up on an S10. It looks good to me. I need to put a gas tank in it. Has anyone done one? If so what did you use and were you able to use the original filler door and tube location? I'm not starting on this for a month or so, any tips would be helpful. I posted pic. of the car the way I bought it under (1941 Ford 2dr) I would love to hook up with someone in NH, MA, VT or ME that wants to work on our cars and share a few beers and burgers. Shoot me a PM if you’re interested.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>

I am putting a 47 Ford moredoor on an S10 chassis in the next month or so...undecided on a tank yet, I have an early Falcon and a 55 Chevy tank here, leaning towards the 55 tank but nothing for sure yet.

Lol at the cat checking out the ball joints on the Dodge pictured above.

Heres a picture of a S-10 cowl with all the components in place. For anyone thinking of doing the swap.

Here is my F-100 cab sitting on the S-10 floor and firewall before final welding.

Anybody run a 4 link with coilovers in the rear of their s10 frame? If so did you run on the inside of the frame or outside the frame?

You can learn alot of stuff (If you overlook the guys wanting to lay frame, stick 20-inch wheels on their trucks, etc.) from www.s10forum.com
