    Has anyone put defrosters in a 33/34, and what did you use. Pictures would be great. Pullin my hair out trying to come up with something.
    Cheers,

    I don't have any photos but remember someone here taking there dash and putting a couple of louvers in the top rail facing the windshield and fabricating a couple of small vents below the louvers attached to the heater. HRP

    I know, I know, it’s not a 33/34, just a old Model A. Maybe you can get a couple of ideas from it though;

    A friend gave me a old heater, but it was way too deep front to back with my recessed firewall so I made a new sheet metal housing for the back that incorporated two ducts for defrost hose. A little paint and it even looked OK.

    Welded a couple of brackets to the Model A dash support rail to mount the defrost diffusers off a 49 Ford, underneath blowing thru the holes that Ford provided in the rail. Made up a couple of diverters that would move the air up and behind the flange on the Model A windshield.

    Had to weld a extension onto the 34 Chevy dash I am using to bring it closer to the windshield. Just copied the original Model A one. Punched a set of 3 louvers on each side of the extension to direct the air up onto the glass.

    Louvers made by cutting a thin slit with a Zip wheel then pressing them in with home made dies. Female die: [IMG]
    Male die:[IMG] and a press.

    Maybe some help.

    While pretty basic if you do not already have a heater installed , hunt down a 12v hair dryer, they are slightly noisy but do work in a pinch. $13 a little imagination and you're done.

    I wish I would have heard of putting louvers in the dash for defrosters as my 37 Chevy p/u did not have defrosters available but I am not pulling the dash out now.
