I have a set of Delco Lovejoy single action shocks from a early Studebaker? Has anyone used this type of shock on their cars. I have seen pictures of the double action version ( GM ) used on sprintcars and they were mounted with the pistons horizontally. Is this the correct mounting position? Pictures of these installed would be helpful. Thanks, deChrome
on my chev they mount on the outside edge of the fame and connect to the axle were it mounts to the paralell leaf.. try searching paralell leaf suspension or under slung suspension you will probaly find some good pics
Probably a dumb question since the shocks do have "L" and "R" on one another, but do they mount with the screw in the up or down position? I know it seems to be a fill hole, so they should mount with the screw hole up, but there's no friction whatsoever to control the upward bounce of the springs that way. All the resistance is when I push down on the lever with the shocks mounted screw hole up! ????
Sorry for the slow reply but I missed your reply to my year old post. I haven't a picture of these mounted. They are stored waiting for progress on my Es*** railed track roadster. These are single action shocks and only dampen the return movement. deChrome
