Sorry to hear that. But,you should have checked him out, everything was a red flag, but you went ahead. You have been here 13 years, you should have known. Thanks for the heads up and again, sorry. Joh33 joined October 9 and has ZERO posts.
I get it, you get all excited about getting a part you've been looking for and say in your minds voice, I'll take the gamble. Most times it turns out good..
You always have to keep your guard up. I came close a while back, but smelled a rat and blocked him! Bones
if someone refuses paypal with a story as to why they don't use it other than they have no account they are probably making it up.
if you go into every transaction with "how can this clown screw me on this deal" in the back of your mind you stand a better chance of coming out ahead.
All the red flags; no HAMB history (just joined to scam you and others). Gmail address. No PayPal. You have to think like the thieves to protect yourself. I typed "15x12 slot mag" into Google images. The photo he sent you is the 2nd photo-originally from an ebay listing. He Googled what you wanted and sent you the pic. https://www.google.com/search?q=15x...BAgKEEU&biw=1680&bih=939#imgrc=DFUdXDPSnIm_UM
I do not have a Pay Pal account and just today again got another e-mail about how my account has been hacked and to contact them immediately. I deleted it immediately and have with all of the others saying the same thing. Pay Pal can be hacked if you have it.
I must admit that I just bought some bumpers from a fellow and I didn't want to use PayPal, I sent him a personal check and he got the money and I got the bumpers so I'm saying that if someone doesn't want to use PayPal; its not always bad.
Paypal sure as hell isn't perfect. But, if the fellow uses the lack of an account to steer you toward a non-traceable, no-refundable method of payment, that's another Red Flag
