I started to ask questions on how to smooth the ride of an s10 ch***is under a car body. It was deleted, and one of the guys who chatted with me about it predicted it would be deleted. I see here there is a guy who how his jaguar IFS into a Pontiac body thread deleted. Why? The purpose here is to build cars, isn't it?
I might add - a local guy good advantage of me and sold me a bad ****** through this site. I kindly asked for my money back, he said no and then made a 2 page thread making fun of me for my "ignorance" and that thread was locked (after two pages) but remained viewable. I posted my side of the story tactfully and without accusation or harsh words and it was deleted right away. What gives? My gut is telling me there is some kind of a "club" here that I am not welcome in and I don't understand why, considering I built nostalgic street Rod over 1 winter in an unheated, one car garage with free or very cheap parts and a lot fabrication. Isn't that what hot rodding is all about? Really not cool. Feels kind of like high school. I wanted to get this out there and in front of a moderator in hopes that I am wrong about my gut and that's just a few rude guys. Also hoping to simply understand why Jaguar front clips and s10 swaps are taboo
S-10 ch***is is not "Traditional" in any way. That's why it got deleted. As far as your transmission transaction issue. Sorry man but you buy at your own risk. The HAMB is not responsible for any cl***ified transactions.
Drew,I don't think anyone on the hamb has had as many threads deleted than me,it's nothing personal and no attack on you,it's just the moderators doing their job and trying to keep us focused. Since the Hamb update a few years ago the main emphasis has been on keeping it traditional, Ryan laid down a set of rules which mentions later S-1o swaps and independent front suspensions as subjects that will be closed. As for the transmission thread,if it's locked you might send a polite request to Cob and ask him to delete it,any thread that turns into drama will get the axe, regardless of who posted it. There are literately thousands of great people here on the Hamb but like any other activity there are always a few bad apples, don't let them run you off. HRP
Hotrodprimer I didn't know that. Figured it's normal rodding, not like putting a twin turbo Lexus engine in a 32 ford but I respect it and it won't come up again. My 50 Chevy is mid 60's at a glance. 54 front end cause that's what i had access to. Might put a jaguar under it but believe me that won't be discussed here. I want power steering and in a 49-54 chev the only option is the ultra rare 53/54 power steering and it's $2,000 said and done I am sure. POSSIBLY can do a astrovan box with heavy mods. I agree, most dudes on here are nice. Thanks for the response and info! corncobcoupe I didn't know that. Good to know now. As for the ******, as I said in the original post I did not publicly say a word. I private messaged him. He then posted all about it for laughs and the moderators allowed 2 days and 2 pages of him slamming me and others, who are hundreds of miles away with NO interest in it jumping on board for fun, or perhaps entertainment to temporarily relieve them selves from their own misery. The moderators then left it up and public. I was attacked on personal levels that should be left alone, period (including my youth, lack of capital, and faith) all while having no idea it was going on, and to add insult to injury my non-confrontational non-offensive (albeit direct) response post was taken down within minutes. Not at all cool, here or anywhere else. Just saying. I was posting all of my progress every night here until this **** and then I almost closed my account. Hotrodprimer hit the nail on the head... Mostly nice dudes so I have since come back a little bit. As for IFS/ch***is swap threads, lesson learned. As for the rest, morally right and morally wrong are what they are and I know where I stand
