    Greetings from the frozen Northeast.

I've been into cars since before I could drive - well legally anyway. That was a long time ago, and I am finally building my own car more or less from a rolling shell. It's a 59 Chevy Sedan Delivery that is in real good shape but needs everything. (that makes sense, right?)

The plan is an LT-1 (an old one with coolant that flows the right way) with a tri-power and lots of finned aluminum, air bags, 5 spokes, flatz paint and lots of miles. I'm done with having a car that you can't really drive anywhere. Oh yeah, and a wagon back seat added for my daughter who will be 4 this summer and already helps daddy fix stuff. That's my girl.

I'm planning a trip next month with my dad to cruise Route 66 from Oklahoma City to LA, ending up at Pomona for the swap meet. Just about a year ago he got real sick (his congestive heart trouble got real bad) and wound up in the cardiac unit for 2 months. After he almost died twice and he whithered almost to nothing, they gave him 6 months to live and put him on the list for a transplant. Well, he was on the list a whole 3 days before a donor was found. Less than 48 hours later he had a new heart and was awake talking to us. Two weeks later he was home. No kidding. It's almost 10 months later and he looks better than he did a year ago and he has no rejection. While he was in the hospital he had said that he always wanted to see Route 66, and I said that when he got out we would do it. Well, we are gonna do it. If you can think of anything that we should not miss, please let me know. I am reading up on it, but sometimes the best stuff is not found in books.

Here are some pics of my car. If there are any other 59 - 60 Delivery's out there I'd love to hear about them.

    Thanks,
    -SeeDan
