    Hey Mate,

Chopped was awesome, and your car was easily my favourite one.

Didn't really meet you, just chatted to you briefly on Sunday arvo about the chop and the bare metal look. But today I found this build thread and just read it from the start. Awesome stuff. Can't believe you did all that in 4 months!!!

Anyway, just wanted to say well done. Next year I might get one of our Val's up there. And now I'm very tempted to leave it bare.

    Cheers

Des, your shoebox is going provide much inspiration when the top comes down on my own car. You have nailed the lines and stance perfectly. Can't wait to see how this finishes up. Job well done so far.

  20. well i been extremely lazy on the hamb updates lately, bassically i have been enjoying the car a little and fixing up all the little bugs that need to be sorted, hvin fun with it,
the guys from fuel tank tv came down on sat they have been discussing shooting a short film on the car and myself with some of the eldorados aswell, anyway what a day, perfect sunny weather, both the olds and the spinner looking all clean and ready to roll, luke from fuel magazine whos involved with fuel tank tv came and shot some really cool pics, anyway, we hung around and talked while they guys shot some random stuff in the shed, then after a while of that we all head off out the road, found a few nice places, they set up and we drove around and did what they said, they had a guy hangin out the back of a wagon shooting while we crusied around the country side, they had a guy in a paddock and another on the ground as we did high speed runs past them, oh did i meantion that the olds was full of eldorados with and esky inbetween them all drinking and havin a good time, a bunch of various shots like that, guys jumping in the cars with cameras and filming, a go pron stuck to the roof of the spinner, and the back window of the olds, then after we got enough we went to the elpho local pub and got a table out front and a whole heap of chicken parmas and beers, sat there for a couple hours talked cars and films, then i went up to the shed with them and left the rest of the club down at the pub while we went back to do an interveiw with me, which was nerve racking, but hopefully i dont come across like a dick or a nervous one thats rambling on ha ha, its goin to be a great thing and there coming down in 2 weeks again to film for another whole day while me and ahron peak my bonnet and do some various welding grinding jobs, then off to meet all the eldorados for a cruise through castlemaine that they wanna film. cant wait, if u havent seen any of there stuff check it out, ill post a link and u guys let me know what you think as they are becomming good mates of ours and they would appreciate feedback. cheers, heres some pics from fuel magazines blog, hope luke doesnt mind i borrowed them to show. check out some links.

  28. ok been real lazy lately having fun driving my spinner i have a few guys weddings coming up that want the car, both from the eldorados so after that i will be starting on the noth in the rear, smoothing the bootlid and frenchin my tail lights finally, but my main goal is chopped 2012 again to have my new engine rebuilt and in running, a 425 buick nailhead wildcat motor, i am asking if anyone has any info that may help or pics that would be great, also if anyone on here that reads this can help with gearbox ideas or even has an adapter to a gearbox here in aus i would love to hear from u. it came with a turbo 400 but am really wanting to run a manuel and the flatty will be put aside for my model a roadster project one day. cheers fellas, will upload some pics shortly of what ive been up to in the car and the good times.

  29. this is the new motor for the spinner, picked up at a steal from ahrons boss kelvin waddington who bought it at a swap a few months back in the states and brought it in in his container, 1300 bucks for an original boxed model a chassis, the 425 nailhead with intake and crab, starter and turbo 400, engine is ok but i will rebuild it for a the peice of mind.............
